These 7 poems are a sample from the full-length collection Welcome to the Sombre Days. The poems take the reader on the author's journey of childhood, one where he was different and did not belong. As children, we do not think about queer identities or undiagnosed autism, and that  ignorance of not-knowing brings more feelings of  not belonging with one's peers.

The rest of the collection continues with the themes of adolescence and coming out, mental health (depression, alcohol use and suicide attempt), as well as reforging the own self into a new identity upon recovery .All Rights Reserved
