A WitchHunter with a glorious destiny. An assassin desperate for freedom. A stable boy with a dangerous secret. A friend with a hidden family. A brother who craves vengeance. ~~~ The deceit is this: The Hunter has a Lochri daughter. The stable boy has a secret curse. The WitchMaster isn't what he appears. No one knows how or why the Lochri came into being. Some believe it was the work of gods. Others, many, many others, believe they are spawned from something much darker. WitchHunters, employed at Hunter's guilds, live their lives in search of these monsters, these unnatural beings who dare to question the order we have kept in place for centuries. I do not hold the title of WitchHunter, however, for I am something far more sinister. I am Alice, the Demon Raven of Kindleridge, and I'm their Ace. ~~~ They call her the Ace, the assassin owned by Velius Dag, highest ranking WitchMaster in the Kingdom. For six years, the Ace has lived mostly unbothered, but all that will change when Hale Arsen, Velius's adopted son, returns to the Ridge, and the Ace is assigned to protect him, as he will one day become the future WitchMaster. Tensions rise as the two clashing personalities come together time after time in feud, but with the Lochri problem growing ever stronger, and secrets begin to unravel themselves, these two opposing forces will have to realize that working together may be the only way to keep the world from figuring out the truth that could spell disaster for them all. Heir of Charms

1 part Complete

Destruction. In a family of healers who save, all I do is destroy. My enforced solitude is for my own safety as well as that of the world, or so my mother tells me. When the boy next door beckons, I can't help but sneak out to forge a friendship with him. Loneliness leads me to defy my family, but desperation prevails when I discover that the grounds of his private academy hold a secret that could help me learn why my ability is so disastrous . . . or push me to create a catastrophe that will bring only death and destruction. *** Merith Leigh has decided to give herself the best sixteenth birthday present ever: freedom. She's spent the last two years in silent communication with Taran, the boy next door, and his encouragement to meet him beyond their bedroom window views has tempted her to finally break free of her family's bonds. With a leap of faith, she trusts Taran with her future, and he takes her to meet his friends at his private academy, where a secret society that studies magic lurks with secrets of their own. Can Taran and his classmates help her discover why she carries the gift of destruction rather than her family's skill at healing, or will their association prove deadly?
