Peter Parker is at the end of his rope. He's beginning to crumble under the weight of a not-so-great home life, a traumatic past, and the responsibility of being Queen's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Anthony Edward Stark has been struggling to move on from the tragic loss of his son, using caffeine, work, and his friends as a distraction from his grief. What happens when the universe brings these two hurting souls together and secrets are brought to light? Will they continue to self-destruct? A teal of a child and his parents. Tony Stark and Pepper Potts' son, James, gets kidnapped during a family vacation. The kidnappers demand money and vanish after getting paid, taking James with them. Months later, law enforcement finds a charred body believed to be James. Tony and Pepper struggle with their grief. Or. The Avengers attack a Hydra base in Russia and find a vigilante with spider-like powers helping Hydra. This new revelation complicates the Avengers' mission and raises questions about the alliance between the vigilante and Hydra.

August 10, 2005 Heaven forbid the wrong person finds this journal. If something is to ever happen to us, I want you to know the truth. Your father and I are agents for a secret government organization called S.H.I.E.L.D.. My hope is that you will never become involved in their affairs. Our mission is to protect the world. Save lives. We were sent on a mission about a month ago to take down a Hydra base. You should have learned about them in history, but they are our enemies. Very few remain. With luck, by the time you are reading this, Hydra will be wiped off of the face of the earth for good. During our mission, we came across Hydra's experimentation on a baby. They had not gotten very far with their experiments and the two year old was still perfectly healthy and fully human. We took the baby back to S.H.I.E.L.D with us. As agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., your father and I have always known that we would never be able to settle down and raise a family. Of course we always have wanted children of our own, but being sent on missions every few months, it would be inconvenient and troublesome. But when we found the baby, we knew that she was our chance at having a family. That baby was you, Petra. You gave us the chance to be parents. I pray that you will never have to read this, and that your father and I will be able to tell you ourselves, but I know that in our line of work, there is a chance that we may be gone. Peter Benjamin-Edward Stark went missing on a Tuesday. For months the entirety of the New York police department, as well as anyone else the Starks could convince to join, searched for the tot. He was only three when he was taken and for four months, two weeks, and four days, Tony Stark and Pepper Stark (nee Potts) worried and fretted over their beloved child. Peter Benjamin-Edward Stark was murdered on a Friday. A ransom call gone wrong spelt the end of the child's life. The world grieved as the kidnappers gleefully told the devastated parents they'd find his body in the morning. They never did. Twelve years passed and the family was still grieving, and Tony Stark worked tirelessly to find his only child's killer and gain justice for his son. Meanwhile Peter Parker was having the worst day ever. He just wanted to help people but instead he gets stabbed. That's just his luck.

Peter's life isn't great, his home life is terrible, and his school days seem to be getting worse. So when he meets a war criminal, he really believed it would get a Hell of a lot worse. However, that's not the case. Or so it seems. Peter's life is turned on its head and everything seems to be changing. CROSS POSTED Tony was not okay. Tony was the exact opposite of okay. Tony, stupid, stupid Tony, not only recruited a teenager, he recruited a teenager that was now being targeted by Hydra. This had to be his fault. Hydra must have somehow found out Peter helped him in Germany and picked him out as the weakest link. They wanted to find a way to get to the Avengers, to get to Tony, and they found it. In the aftermath of Civil War, the Accords have been sorted out, but the Avengers are far from mended. Their issues must be pushed aside, however, when Peter Parker, who has until then kept his real identity a secret, arrives at Stark Tower to tell Tony that May is missing. It will take the whole team to figure out what Hydra has planned, but they are nowhere near prepared for what they will find. PS: I promise the writing does get better! I was expecting this to be a shorter fic, but as you can tell it kind of ran away from me and I take it more seriously than I did in the beginning! Thanks for reading!

After Aunt May finds out that he's Spiderman, Peter Parker has nowhere to go. Tony Stark takes him in and learns what it's like to take care of a kid. He and Peter grow closer together, resulting in a time that will change Tony and Peter's lives forever. None of the characters belong to me, I'm just using them for my wonderful fanfiction. After Peter had been bitten by a spider and the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter became Spider-man. Living with his Aunt May, going to high school as a sophomore and at night saving the people of Queens from Robberies, Kidnappings and some of Spider-mans enemies. One day Peter comes home to see his Aunt May shot and killed just like his Uncle Ben. Peter was then taken to an Orphanage where he was neglected by the care takers only a few kids try to help him make it through his time in the Orphanage. But sadly over the time of three months Peter slowly stopped talking, the schools therapist that was in charged of helping Peter to talk again. Tony and Pepper are wanting to adopt a kid thinking that having a kid will help keep the other's from having another 'Civil war' issue. So that is what they did, going to the closest Orphanage in Queens. When they first lay their eyes on Peter they knew that he was special and that he was the one. Everything was going great but all good things must come to an end. Will Peter make it out of his depressed state or will he be forever lost in his depression. Aunt May died while Peter was in school, taking away the last person on his family tree. Peter doesn't want to go into the system, he feels like he's being forced to. So when there's no one left to save the day, he turns to the only person he feels like he has left.
