It was a Sunday night, family night for the Greens. They were playing a board game when it happened. At exactly 11:11 pm; a time for wishes, a sixteen year old girl wished for true love one day. At that exact moment her window smashed and something flew into her room. It was a flock of them; they attracted the house and only took one thing: the girl. She remembers it clearly, the way she screamed scared out of her mind. The way it grabbed her waist and took off. She remembers screaming for help but no one came to her rescue. Oh how she wishes that she left her safety knife in her room. Then they would be safe. Her family! She just hopes they were fine, but the conclusion that she was taken says that her family would be back to normal soon. She sighs and thinks over her life. From a little kid she was always the loner. But her family loved her to death. It all changed when she turned ten. The world was changing. She remembers the exact day at the exact time. Her birthday; she calls it the hell day. Something bad always happens on her birthday and that year was the worst so far. On February 20/2020 at exactly 2:20 On the news they had let out the horrible announcement. Scientist's experiments had gone wrong. They call them the "Stone Devils". They were escaping from the labs and into our world. Made of stone and all male. Winged creatures that come into the night. Steal and kill their prey. That's what she heard but she didn't believe it until a few nights ago. (kinda like the movie Warm Bodies)

She stared into them, mesmerized. He mimicked a breath and she took it with him. She was coming back. "I will not hurt you," the man kneeling before her promised. Anna knew better than to believe him. What was it he had said? Oh. "You...you said...you said 'no witnesses'." She was shaking violently. She took another deep breath. This story kind of explains why I have problems finishing stories, u have ideas then it like how do I make them not so cliché or cringe worthy. A short story with a semi finished ending, it leaves me a bit of wriggle room to add to, if I decide to. Any similarities or references are purely for fiction and I did not base this story on anything except if the third world war started. It is fiction people. All credit to the original owners or creator's for the borrowed characters and media. I own the story and the original characters. There is some references to dark topics and subjects, pleae be warned. They do only skim it though.

Alexei Alekseyevich Sokolov, Alyosha to his family was having one of those rare moments of peace. He's and as President of Russia, he's always got a lot on his plate, but today was different. His family looked around, equally confused. It came and went, leaving no trace, but something about it felt wrong. An hour later, the phone rang. The voice on the other end was frantic. Alyosha's stomach dropped as he rushed to the conference room. Being the president, he's used to receiving urgent news, but this was different. His generals didn't waste any time. Their words hit him like a punch to the gut: "Mr. President, Russia... has been transported to another world." At first, it didn't make sense. Russia's land was still the same familiar as ever. The sky, the air, the terrain it all looked like it always had but something was clearly off. The world beyond their borders was completely otherworldly. The landscape felt wrong, like it belonged to another era a realm born of legend and myth. Was this some kind of enchanted realm? The generals didn't have answers. What they did know was that Russia was no longer where it had been. Russia had been transported to a strange, fantastical world, one that defied all explanation. While the sky above them looked the same, everything around them felt like it came out of an epic medieval tale. The air thrummed with a strange energy and the lands beyond their borders held a mysterious, almost arcane quality. Magic? Creatures from legend? Nobody knew for sure.

In the midst of a gruesome and horrifying war, she finds herself questioning more than just sanity of the time period, but even her own. "Who are you?" She said looking at him. "Where have you gotten me?" she crawled back on the bed, looking around the peculiar room. She saw him moving towards her, his eye filled with raw desire. "You are home, love." The same voice that earlier seemed melodious in the club a few days back was now causing dread to pass through her. "Let me go or-" before she could say, in a flash, he stood before her and growled, grabbing her jaw, "I waited for you 20years, and this time I won't let you leave, whether you like it or not." Alexis, a spoiled and rebellious brat, lived a reckless life, much to her father's dismay. With a strained relationship with her father and step-mother, still coping with her mother's demise, she retorted to being a brat. She was living her life unaware of the storm from the mystical world coming her way. It happened a night when she felt someone's presence in her bedroom; however, there was no one around her. Her rebellious life took a turn when she met a handsome stranger, Czar, at a nightclub. As reckless as she was, she didn't notice the signs around her until the day she found herself caged inside a castle. Castle? Is that right? what will happen when she finds out Czar is nothing but a vampire Duke. The question arises, why was a vampire Duke after her? How did he come from his mystical world? Most importantly, what will happen to Alexis?

The first in a series of short stories in "The D-Word" collection, "Watching" is the story of a young immigrant to Canada named Kali. After graduating from high school she is married off by her father to a much older family friend who she soon discovers has an unusual hobby. Walter is physically repugnant to Kali and she's extremely grateful he does not have sex with her. But she wonders what he does in his room where he increasingly spends most of his time. After Walter loses his job he renovates his basement and selects an attractive university student, Stephen, as the tenant. A few months later he informs Kali that they will be visiting the basement apartment and Stephen the following evening and that she needs to get a good night's sleep and bathe following work the next day. This story is based on a divorce case I edited many years ago while working at my first job as a legal editor for a publishing company. As I edited these cases I learned over and over again that truth can indeed be stranger and even kinkier than fiction.
