Just finished season 2 of The Last of Us. It's a really great kids show and you should definitely watch it with a sibling who is under the age of 13!

I just had a mini panic attack today T-T
While I was fishing today my phone fell off a rock and into the lake. Legit dived in after it knowing if that thing breaks that I won't be getting another one until college

@Quetzal-Does-Art Yeah that makes sense. My little sister is obsessed with listening to the series on repeat on audible, and all the stuff I’ve overheard all sounds the same

@Apealio same, I got 4 books in and became incredibly bored of Firestar. the plot was semi-interesting I guess but having the same protagonist for six whole books was what made me turn away from the series.

I'm gonna be going a little bit of a random tangent that's a bit controversial for this community, but this is something I feel I just need to get off my chest somewhere because I frankly find this whole ordeal ridiculous.

Recently a science nerd channel I watch uploaded a video that used an AI generated thumbnail image, and they got flamed for it by a bunch of angry, gatekeepy artists for no other reason besides that it had AI in it. People were going as far as saying they were unsubscribing and that the YTber in questions was a "maniac" and shouldn't be trusted (these are actual quotes btw)

Anyways, this brings me to what I really just wanted to yap about: the amount of gatekeeping going on in the writer and artist community. Look, I respect artists and authors alike and think that they make amazing things, but some of yall need to stop being EFFING SNOWFLAKES. Just because people choose to use AI and not give money to some random to commission art doesn't mean they are a bad person, they are just taking advantage of their resources and some of yall NEED. TO. GET. OVER. THAT. It's not the end of the world because someone chooses to use AI, and maybe if the communities were less toxic, more people would be commissioning art and supporting small writers.

Anyways, Ik this rant won't really impact anyone but I felt this needed to be said somewhere.

@-Hazelnutella_ I mean a lot of that stuff you said is understandable. It isn’t toxic to tell someone not to use AI in general, I was mostly focusing on some of the really extremist things that some people were saying (stuff saying that people who used AI are horrible human beings, even if they can’t pay for a commission, etc.) I still do feel like a lot of the artist community and writing community is pretty gatekeepy, but hey, that’s just me.

some AI company. Choosing to use AI art over human art when you have the resources to do it, especially when you have a large platform, in my opinion, can show that you don't care about the quality of your content over making it cheaply and quickly. I would also seriously reconsider following a larger channel that used AI. (Same doesn't apply to smaller channels who might not have the resources to commission artists. This doesn't apply in all scenarios.) I don't think it's toxic to tell someone that they shouldn't use AI if they have the resources to hire a real artist. Though calling them a 'maniac' and untrustable was a bit of an overreaction. I don't think using AI is a sign of immortality unless it comes from large companies using it to slash their workforce, but I'd definitely see why people would be upset and I'd be disappointed if a large YouTuber I followed used AI.

@Apealio Ai regularly steals artists' work and regenerates incredibly similar things without giving credit. I can 100% see why people would be upset about it. Artists spend years honing their craft only for their art to be used for training by
