"And even though the story started long before you and I were born we still have an important role to play."
-C. Jackson
The story being our world, humanity's presence—it's been a long time since it has started, huh? And so many things have been achieved, so many people born, lives lived, inventions, creations. There has been destruction. There are disasters. Floods, earthquakes, wars, violence, hate. History.
We live in a big world, full of many different people, covered in graves of those who have come before us. Revolution, peace, bravery, fear, love, hate, hope, despair.
Many roles have been played. Dictators, heroes, villains—bystanders, visionaries, believers.
It's awful—it's wonderful.
This world's story started billions of years ago. Our ancestors have done a lot over their years, good and bad. They've created and destroyed.
And now here we are. The current generations living in the world, some newer, some not. Still billions of people. We are all living in this big world—this world that sometimes feels too big, this world that sometimes feels like it simply isn't the right place for some of us.
But now it's our turn.
Now it is your turn.
You can live, you can invent, create. It is your turn to revolutionise the world—start small. Be brave, embrace fear and worry—it is natural. Share love, dispel hate.
You might not be as revolutionary as the founders and rulers of the countries on our world, or the activists that got a lot of us here—the ones that fought in the past.
But you don't need to be. That's the point. All you need to be is unconditionally yourself. Don't let anyone put you down. Don't let anyone undo all the work that has been put into the good of this world. Push forward and put even more good in our planet.
The world is changing, the story is old and long, but it is still going. And you happen to be here. In fact, you happen to be reading this.
