A world turned upside down, like a stormy sea
A pandemic arrived, spreading far and wide
Changing our lives like a turbulent tide
We all wore masks, and stayed six feet apart
Working from home, it was a brand new start
Zoom became our friend, connecting us all
Even though we couldn't sit down for a chat in the hall
The world protested for justice and change
For equality and rights, a new path to arrange
We saw fires and floods, and hurricanes too
A reminder that climate change is real and true
We lost loved ones, and mourned from afar
Grieving for those who we couldn't be near, but still held in our heart
But through it all, we found hope and grace
Coming together to make the world a better place
2020 was a year we will never forget
Filled with challenges and pain, but also a chance to reset
So let us move forward, with courage and might
And make 2021 a year full of love and light"
