Before we get started with the q&a, some clarifications:

– Dan did tell his family about him being abused, but that doesn't mean he's going to be comfortable about sharing that part of his life with other people too, no matter how much he is close with them, or trusts them. He is still healing. It is going to take some time before he's going to be able to share that part of his life without breaking down.

– That's why he hasn't told Zach about that yet. It doesn't mean he's never going to tell him. He will – just not now. He will when he feels ready. It doesn't in any way change the fact about how much he trusts Zach or how much he likes/loves him.

– About Jaya, it is an unspoken agreement within Dan's family that they have basically cut all ties with her. She is as good as a stranger to them now. Dan's parents would have gone after her, and even reported her, but Dan is the survivor here – he does not want to dwell on that memory any longer than needed be. He wants to move on and live his life with no inhibition.
