"I, um, what?" I asked, looking at him curiously. I wasn't sure if I had heard him correctly.
"Not, um, not right now. Just like, eventually, you know. I don't know. That was stupid. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything at all. God, this is awkward. I'm sorry, Izzie," he rambled, avoiding eye contact.
"No, Quinton, don't do that," I replied, grabbing his arm to stop him from getting up. "I just wasn't expecting you to ask."
"Oh," he sighed. "Um, not to, like, rush you or anything, but do you have an answer for me or?"
"Yes," I answered, smiling at him. "Yes, I will marry you, Quinton Griggs."

We sat in silence for a few minutes, and I rested my head on his shoulder. "I know that I said yes, but that doesn't mean that I want to go and get married tomorrow," I finally said, breaking the silence.
"Oh, God, no. I definitely think we should wait. I mean, we're practically babies," Quinton laughed. "I would wait for you forever if I had to."
"Well, lucky for you, you don't have to wait for me forever, just for a little while," I teased, nudging his shoulder playfully. "What's up next on today's agenda?"
"Well," he began, standing up and extending his hand out to me, "I thought that we would do some shopping. I know how much you love to shop."
"You make me sound like a shopaholic or something," I laughed, taking his outstretched hand and standing up.

The drive to the mall was silent, and I held his hand tightly in my own, relishing the safe feeling that he always gave me.
When he pulled into the parking lot, he let go of my hand. "Hey," I protested.
"We're getting out of the car, you goofball. Calm down," he replied, chucking at the pout that now graced my face.
Almost as soon as we were out of the car, someone approached the two of us. "Hey, you're Quinton Griggs and Isabella Davis, aren't you?"
"That's us," Quinton confirmed.
"I'm a huge fan," the girl said. "Can we please take a selfie?"
"Yeah, of course," Quinton agreed.
I stood by patiently, waiting for the two of them to finish, but the girl looked at me expectantly. "Get in here too!" she exclaimed. We posed for the selfie, and she thanked us profusely before heading off in the opposite direction.

"That was cute," Quinton teased me, grabbing my hand as we walked.
I looked over at him. "What was cute?"
"The way that you looked at her when she told you to get in the picture, too. You looked so excited. It was adorable," he explained.
We had entered the mall, and I noticed people taking photos of Quinton. "You know, it never stops being weird to me that people take pictures of you when they see you in public."
"You know that they're not just taking pictures of me, right?" he asked.
"Who else would they be taking pictures of?" I asked, confused.
"You, baby. You've been all over the media, especially lately with the lawsuit and the whole thing with Cynthia. People freaking love you," he answered.
I found that hard to believe, but there was no sense in arguing with him about it. When it came to Quinton, he always thought that he was right.

After a few hours of shopping, Quinton stopped me. "Hey, are you ready for lunch yet?"
"Is that the next part of the surprise?" I joked.
He chuckled before answering. "Don't patronize me. You know that you love this."
"Yeah, you're right," I agreed. "In my defense, though, I love spending any time with you at all."
"Do you really?"
"Of course I do. You ended up being my little bit of light in a time that was shrouded in darkness. You were one of the best things to happen to me in the last year," I added, leaning into him again as we walked back out to the parking lot.
"Hey, I feel the same way about you. I mean, I was in the darkest part of my life after Cynthia, and it even caused me to screw up with you initially. I'm so grateful that you gave me another chance. God knows that I don't deserve it," he replied as we got to the car.

"Where are we going next?" I asked, buckling my seatbelt.
"Again with the trying to ruin the surprise. You're killing me here, Izzie. Please, just be patient. You will love it," he promised, shifting the car into gear.
"If I don't love it, you owe me big time," I teased.
"Have you not loved a single surprise today?"
"Fair enough," I sighed.

We pulled into the parking lot of a cafe that we frequented. "Okay, you were right. I love it," I confirmed, looking over at him as he parked.
"Not to sound full of myself or anything, but I'm almost always right."
I laughed loudly, my laughter trailing off as I realized that he wasn't joking. "Oh, you're serious. Wow. Um, never mind."
We went inside, sitting down at the table that we usually did. "Do you want your usual?" he asked, getting up to head to the counter and place our order.
I nodded, unlocking my phone as he left the table. I thought about texting Rafy, but I eventually decided that calling her would be that much quicker.

"Hello?" she answered.
"Hey, Rafy. How are you?"
She sounded confused, but she didn't question me. "I'm good. How are you, Izzie?"
"I, uh, I'm good. You know, a little excited, but overall, just good," I told her, not sure if I should tell her about Quinton's proposal.
"Was there a reason that you called me?" she asked.
"Oh, um, yeah," I stammered. "I, uh, I wanted to tell you about my day."
"Okay, shoot," she sighed.
"Well, we went to the skate park that we went to on our first date. You know, the triple date with Jaden and Bryce? And, um, Rafy, he asked me to marry him."
