Y/n stared at the letter she held, face dull and void of any emotion. This wasn't true right? It can't be.It can't..
Yuma tilted his head, confused on his Mistress' reaction. What did the letter say? She hasn't given it to him so he can read it so he had no idea what the contents of the letter held.
"Mistress?"
Y/n looked up, tears spilling from her grey irises. Yumas own eyes widened at the lack of (e/c) in her eyes. He quickly took the letter from her an read it through.
Miss Carter,
I apologize that I am the bearer of bad news but this information can not be withheld from you.
On my most recent case I have been tracking down a murder. The Queen wanted him to be stopped by any means necessary. I'm going to be blunt since I am not one to sugarcoat my words, Emmit Carter was the culprit. He resisted arrest so I had no choice but to kill him.
I am sorry for your loss. The Queens Guard Dog, Ciel Phantomhive
"Is my father truly...dead?" Yuma dropped the paper and grabbed his Mistress shoulders, keeping her grounded.
"I am sorry Mistress.."
"But.. that can't be.. Sure my father was an asshole but a murder? Why? This can't be happening.. I'm an orphan now? Both my parents are dead.. I'm alone-"
"No, you are not alone." Yuma firmly cut her off, weary of the emotional mess her powers were becoming without her realising. "You have me and you have Alois."
"You and... Alois?"
"Yes, and we both love you. You are the fiancee of Alois and his soon to be wife. You are my Mistress. What part of that is alone?"
The shock of the news of her father's death cleared and Y/n's eyes slowly returned to their normal (e/c) color. Yuma was right.
Besides, her father was never really there for her in the first place. She had claimed to hate him many times before.
But she knew it was a lie for she could never truly hate him...
"Where's.." Y/n took in a deep breath to steady her wavering voice. "Where is Alois?"
Yuma smiled softly and pet the top of her head, soothing her and her slowly calming powers.
"He is in the dining hall waiting for you to join him for dinner. That was the original reason I came to get you until Claude gave me the letter."
Y/n nodded and left the library quickly, no longer funding comfort in all the stories surrounding her.
She quickly arrived in the dining room, Alois' smile immediately turning into a grown when he saw the look on his lovers face.
"Darling what's wrong?" Alois stood and met her halfway, pulling the still emotional maiden into a very much needed hug.
Y/n sniffled and cuddled into the blonds strong arms, immediately feeling safe.
"Y/n?"
"My..father.." She paused, breathing in deeply, taking notice that her powers were no longer riling up even though she was still very upset. "He's gone.."
Alois let out a sigh and hugged her tighter.
"It will be all right my love, I'm still here to take care of you and I won't be leaving anytime soon." Alois reassured, pressing his lips to the top of her head.
Y/n looked up, her eyes glossy from the tears. Alois smiled at her and cupped her cheek, pulling her up to his height and tilting his head so that their lips could meet in a kiss.
She kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his shoulders so that she could pull him more down to her height.
Alois' tongue prodded at her lips and Y/n opened them, allowing his tongue to slide into her mouth and rub against her own.
She felt her knees go weak at the still new sensation and she quickly grasped his vest in case her legs suddenly decided to give out on her.
Alois tilted his head and deepened the kiss, his tongue locked with hers in a one-sided battle.
After minutes of a passionate make-out session Y/n pulled away, her face flushed with a small string of saliva connecting the couple's lips.
She quickly looked away, wiping the saliva from her lips. Alois smiled and led her to the table, pulling a chair out for her, neither noticing the long gone servants.
As the two began to eat their dinner Aloud brought up the subject of Y/n's birthday.
"My birthday?" Y/n asked in a slightly surprised voice when Alois had asked what she would like to do.
"Of course silly," Alois chuckled.
That's when it hit her. It was going to be her birthday. She was going to find out the truth. That both excited and scared her.
"Well I haven't really thought about it yet," Y/n hummed thoughtfully, taking another bite of her dinner. She associated her birthday with her father forcing her to marry. Her father....
Y/n frowned, the fact that her father was gone still weighing heavy on her heart.
Alois pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, sensing her mood shift.
"Well you have a month to decide," Alois smiled and kissed her cheek. Y/n smiled back softly and the couple went back to enjoying their meal.
Ahhh the first update of the year! I apologize I couldn't get a chapter out sooner, school has started for me and I haven't been motivated to work on this book.
