The Next Generation: The Beginning

Welcome to the TNG universe! This is a fanfic I started writing right after I finished PJO, the first series (I knew about solangelo from a friend and it was already my OTP). If there are any inaccuracies with events, names, or things that happen(ed) in HOO and/or TOA please kindly let me know in the comments. Now, on with the story!

Late April

Nico's POV

You never realize how difficult teenagers are until you have your own. Not that this is a new experience, but still, not a very pleasant one.

"But Dad, I don't have any friends! I'm just a freak!" I was at the kitchen table with Will after receiving a call from the principal of Mia's school saying she had let a gang into the school (in reality she raised some skeletons from the underworld, but the mist makes it so mortals only see what they need to see).

"Mia, I know, but what do you want us to do?" Will took her hands and looked her in the eyes sympathetically, and pushed a strand of her long blonde hair out of her face.

"I want you to take me out of school. I already live here, so why can't I train? I'm thirteen, I'm not a little girl anymore. Besides, papà, you were eight when you started." I looked at Will. We were a lot younger when we started, but we had waited to start training with all our kids; we didn't want them to have to go through what we did. I sighed.

"I'll call the principal. I'll tell him you're not going to continue attending school there." I explained and I was serious. She was right- she wasn't a child anymore, and she was extremely smart and mature for her age. As I told her my plan, her face lit up in the bright smile she got from Will.

"Oh, thank you papà!" She ran around the table to hug me.

"You're welcome mia figlia (my daughter). Now, it's time for bed." She sighed.

"Ok. Good night, papà. Good night, Dad" she gave each of us a kiss on the cheek and went to the Hades cabin. Will sighed his head in his hands.

"What are we going to do with her?" I got up, walking over to stand behind him. He was still taller than me (curse him) and wrapped my arms around his neck. I placed my chin on the top of his head, feeling his shoulders relax a bit.

"We'll think of something. Besides, at least she's not Percy, running around the U.S. to save the world." That got a laugh.

"That," he said standing up, " is a great point. Though she is sassy." He slipped his arms around my waist. I sighed, breathing him in, feeling the tension from the night slipping away.

"What would I do without you?" He murmured into my hair. I hummed a bit.

"Well, you would definitely not have an easy time dealing with our children." He chuckled and pulled away.

"I love you, Sunshine" he leaned down.

"I love you too, Tesoro (treasure)" I pecked him on the lips, smirking. Will looked down at me with an expression that said you really think you're getting away with that? And leaned down to kiss me. After 21 years ( 5 years of dating), I still lose my breath every time he kisses me. When we kiss, the world just melts away, and it's just us. He's so gentle and kind, and, well... perfect. I really am the luckiest man on earth to have Will. We kissed for what felt like hours, but eventually, I needed oxygen, so I pulled away and caught my breath. After a moment I yawned. Will chuckled.
