'Hi, Sam,' Steve said, for the first time truly smiling ever since the passing of his love. His true love.
He looked over to Sam.
'So did something go wrong, or did something go right?' He asked incredulously.
'Well, after I put the stones back,' he said, slightly tilting his head. 'I thought, maybe I'll try some of that life Tony was telling me to get.' He sighed in content, glancing at his hand, which was holding a drawing of a red-head woman, alongside two children, a redhead and a blonde, hiding it from Sam.
'How'd that work out for you?' He asked, happy for his friend.
'It was beautiful,' Steve replied, with misty eyes, staring into the scarlet- red sky, remembering a special woman in his life, whom he was reminded with the colour of the sky. He tucked the piece of paper secretly in his pocket, in the left pocket of his jacket, touching his heart where he had kept it.
'I'm happy for you,' Sam said earnestly. 'Truly.'
'Thank you,' Steve replied, hand still on his chest.
'Only thing bumming me out is the fact I have to live in a world without Captain America,' Sam said, slightly grinning.
'Oh, That reminds me,' he brought out his shield. 'Try it on.'Sam look over to Bucky, who nodded, and Sam held Steve's shield.
'How does it feel?' Steve asked him eagerly.
'Like it's someone else's,' Sam replied, carefully examining the shield.
'It isn't,' Steve said, smiling at Sam.Sam tried to hold back tears.
'Thank you,' he said proudly. 'I'll do my best.'
'That's why it's yours,' Steve said, shaking Sam's hand.Sam noticed Steve's wedding ring. 'You wanna tell me about her?'
'No,' Steve said after a moment. 'No, I don't think I will.'

*Brooklyn, NY, 2025*
In a quaint neighbourhood, a small cottage, in a living room. Natasha's phone playing "It's Been a Long, Long Time" by Harry James and Kitty Kallen. The couple, Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff-Rogers, blissfully swaying to the music. There is a noticeable bump on Natasha's stomach. Her ear pressed against his chest, smiling to herself and at her husband. Steve was smelling Natasha's hair, also smiling to himself.
'Thank god you atleast danced with Peggy,' Natasha raised her head and looked up at her Steve. 'I don't want to be another first for you, I have taken over too many of your firsts.'
'That was the second thing I did after putting all the stones in their respective times,' Steve, smirking at her. 'And third was getting you back. Actually, the most important thing. Other than tearing your wedding dress down.'
'Aww,' Natasha cooed. 'That's sweet of you, but the last time that happened, I ended up pregnant with twins.'
'I know,' Steve answered, placing his left hand on her stomach. 'What did the doctor say about the sexes?'
'Girl and boy,' Natasha answered, smiling. 'I bet James Clinton Rogers-Romanoff will be like you, all commanding but cute-- ''Two things, dear,' he said. 'One, you think I'm cute? And commanding?' He wiggled his eyebrows, smiling smugly. Natasha rolled her eyes, smirking. 'Two, James?' He had slightly confused look on his face.
'Well, let's face the truth,' she said, shrugging. 'He plays a very important role in our separate and joint lives. Without him, neither of us will be who we are today.'
'True,' he said, twirling his wife around, eliciting a giggle from her. 'What about our girl?'
'Sarah, after your mother,' she said, without missing a beat. 'And Margaret, for Peggy.''I love you, Natasha,' he said, letting out a heavy sigh. 'Always have, always will.'
'Will you love me for the rest of my life, Steve?' She asked him, looking deep in his eyes.'No,' he said. 'I will love you for the rest of my life.' He smiled lovingly at her, held her stomach delicately and kissed her with love.
Natasha kissed him back, her arms tightly wrapped around his neck.--
The present Steve, took out the piece of paper, stared at it, and placed it back. He kept looking at the sky, which had now turned a deep shade of blue.
'I see you, my love,' he said, pointing at a small red flower, growing near the lake. 'And you, my precious children.' He murmured, gazing at two smaller flowers growing besides the taller one. He sighed, for the last time, knowing his life was finally, complete.
