A simple life...

Jays POV
After following dr Rhodes to Ivys room he stopped him outside her sliding doors before telling dr Rhodes that he could tell jay what was wrong with her and he would look after her. Dr Rhodes flashed jay a wide smile as he knew jay felt more for ivy than just sympathy, "okay sure, so she passed out on the scene and fell unconscious but when she woke up not too long ago we ordered scans to find any kind of internal bleeding" dr Rhodes started, jay looked eager but concerned. "Luckily, she hasn't endured and internal injuries other than bruised ribs, she is however very dehydrated and exhausted so that's why she blacked out." Jay felt a sigh of relief surge over him as he finally knew she was going to be okay. "You can stay with her if you wish but she's sleeping right now, if you want to go and freshen yourself up and come back to her then that's fine." Jay smiled sincerely at dr Rhodes before he turned to go treat another patient. Jay caught will staring at him so he signalled for him to come over, "hey Uh, she's fine, she's gonna be okay" jay updated will. "So do you like her?" Will twerped in after a moment of awkward silence, Jay shot him a death stare, the you tell her you die stare, will snickered at his admission and raised his hands in defence before backing away and going back to his desk.
*ping*
Hailey: "hey jay, how you doing? How's ivy?"
Jay: "hey hails, we're both fine - she's conscious now but sleeping"
Hailey: "thats great jay, told you she'd pull through. The unit had to go back to the district if you're wondering where we all went, looking for a lead on lukas. I'll keep you in the loop!"
Jay: "yeah sure thanks hailey means a lot"
Hailey: "no problemo partner, take care"
He loved hailey as a partner but it was nothing more than a pure partnership, but with ivy he felt something in his stomach he hadn't felt in years, butterflies.

General POV
The day dragged on, 13:00pm, 13:30pm 14:00pm it had only been an hour but the world was moving in slow motion. The unit had found out that lukas and his clown had fled to New Zealand, the case was now taken away from them as they had no authority over another country's law, jay had freshened up and gotten something to eat, Ivy was still asleep. Will and dr Rhodes were fully aware of jays love interest so they decided to try and help her as much as they could.

Voights POV
It was mid day and the sun was shining through his office window, he grabbed his phone before calling jay and letting him know he was coming to join him since the case had been removed out of their hands. It was no more than a 10 minute drive to get to med but voight got there in 5. He felt a connection to ivy he hadn't felt since Erin left.

Jays POV
He was finally ready to go into Ivys room, he stopped in his tracks before sliding the door open. His eyes widened, she was so beautiful, her long brunette wavy hair was tucked loosely behind her ears and her luscious lips parted slightly letting her miniature snores seep through. Jay smiled knowing he found her, she was safe in his care and he wouldn't leave her side. He pulled up a chair next to her bed and sat down quietly trying not to wake her up, as he picked up her hand and rested it in his he placed his head on the back of her hand and whispered, "I'm staying right here". His moment was broken as he felt a wiggle in his hand, lowering her arm so she could wake up, he watched in awe as her ocean blue eyes came to life adding some form of colour back to her face. Jay stood up and waved for will to come in, as he was now assigned to her care, his eyes latched onto hers as they stared at each other smiling in silence for a few seconds. He didn't realise he still had hold of her hand, until she wriggled her fingers again. They both blushed before will entered with a cup of water, he gave Ivy the cup and asked how she was feeling. Jay knew she was feisty so she would probably try and resist any help, "I feel fine I guess" she meekly replied, wincing in pain as she re positioned herself on the medical bed screwing her face up in a ball. "Fine huh? That face tells me otherwise! What hurts?" Will objected, "okay okay, my stomach hurts a bit" jay shot her the tell him the truth look, "okay fine a lot" jay smiled knowing he had gotten her trust. Will walked over to her side and started to press into her lower abdomen, she flinched in slight discomfort but will knew it was no more than that, so he worked his way up-to her ribs where she began to whimper a little at his touch, Will released his touch for her ribs. "Okay Ivy it doesn't look like a neumothorax or anything but you do have severely bruised ribs which is probably why you're in so much pain, it's nothing recovery and pain meds can't fix, don't worry" jay placed his hand on top of hers reassuring her it was going to be okay.
