Summary: After uploading a pretty raw, emotional video together, for their fans, explaining their break, the wave of support and love comes crashing in, as does the hate and criticism. Y/n faces the darkest point in her career and her life, not able to handle the break up, a sick grandmother, the hate, and a massive move all at once while still streaming as the always happy, bubbly, and quick-witted girl her community is used to. This results in a sudden hiatus that concerns her fans and her friends. Luckily one friend is closer than the others and happens to know just how to lift her mood, even just a little bit
A/N: I only know a little about treatments and the effects since my Tio had his own diagnosis several months ago so I only mentioned the chemo. (He's doing well).

"This isn't going to be a fun video, nor a very long one," Sykkuno takes the lead, both your eyes puffy and bloodshot, "but, we feel the need to address it from the start, before any rumors are spread."
You were already tearing up again as you began talking, "we'll be separating. Not permanently, but we don't know for how long either," you manage to get out before letting out a sob, "we still love each other, I still love Thomas, but I'll be moving to Korea because of a family emergency and-"
Sykkuno pulls you into his side, soothing you as his own hiccups and tears become more obvious. You both allow yourselves and each other as much time as you need to calm down again. This video would be minimal editing, hopefully this would be the only part would have to snip in order to save the rest of your diginity.
"We don't want to risk a failed long distance relationship that could ruin our relationship entirely. This was a mutual agreement, so please understand that we are still on good terms and love each other. Please don't send any hate. This is a personal decision."

That was over two weeks ago. Now you're finally settled in your grandma's house, just laying down after a long day of vomit and doctors visits. You were supposed to stream today, to tired do so you you go on Twitter to update your fans and friends.

Almost immediately your phone rings, "Hey, Rachel."
"Okay, what's up? You never call me Rachel."
"I'm okay. It's just been a long day, grandma had her first bag of chemo so it was stressful," you sigh, not planning to really dig too deep into your mess of problems.
As if she knows that's your plan, Rae shoots the idea down, "there's more to it. I can hear it in your voice."
You sigh, eyes watering, "it's too much at once. Usually I'd have you guys, I'd have Thomas. Right now it's just me, my sick grandmother, and all the hate from after the announcement," your shaky breath gives away that you have started crying, "I don't know what I'm doing, Rae, and it's terrifying."

It's another two weeks before your next proper check in. Well, check ins. Four minutes after you made an announcement on Twitter.

13+ messages...
I sigh, looking through the texts from friends, thanking them for the offer of any form of aid, reminding me to take care of myself, and asking if if I was doing alright.
I click on the last unread message with a heavy sigh.

Not knowing what to say in response you shut off your phones, sighing, closing your eyes. As much as you'd like to get some rest, your racing mind wouldn't allow it. Though it really didn't matter since your phone only went off again.

In a matter of minutes, Jae was settled next to you on your bed. He had brought mozzarella sticks and shakes. Though he wouldn't admit to it, you could tell it was supposed to he a bribe to make you open up.
Most of your time together was spent talking about issues and stuffing your mouths with the breaded cheese. While you told him everything you had previously told Rae, you mentioned how the hate managed to only increase, hence the hiatus you called.
The rest of the time was spent with Jae holding you, making you laugh at bad jokes. Oh, and of course the mozzarella stick vs cheese stick debate.
"They're cheese sticks," Jae says for the umpteenth time.
"They are literally called Mozzarella Sti- hm!"
"Shhh, they're cheese sticks," Jae shushes you, having shoved a half eaten mozzarella stick in you mouth as you were talking.
You were grateful. For the first time in this very long month, you went to bed in a good mood, thanks to Jae.
