"I brought you lunch," Sasuke said as he walked into the office. "We've got a salad, some water, and some cheesecake from home."
I looked up from the paperwork I was helping Naruto with and stared at Sasuke. "A salad and water?" I repeated.
He nodded. "And cheesecake."
"Leave the cake and take that fucking rabbit food and shove it up-" Sasuke interrupted me by pressing his lips against mine. "You need to eat healthier," Sasuke said after he pulled away. "It's good for you and the baby."
"I want Pork miso ramen with extra pork."
Sasuke sighed. "We can go to Ichiraku for dinner, please just eat the salad. I made it myself."
"Can I have both?"
"If you eat too much, you'll get sick again."
"But-"
"Please?" Sasuke said.
I groaned before plopping down on the couch and setting the bowl on the table, then I opened the Salad and stared at it.
"You okay there, ____?" Naruto asked.
"I don't want it."
"I thought you liked salads?" He said.
"I want ramen. This- this is just lettuce, and cucumber and tomato, and whatever else is here."
Sasuke walked over to me and took one of the cherry tomatoes and ate it. I glared at him. "Don't eat my tomatoes, Uchiha."
"Well, you said you didn't want it, Uchiha," he said back.
I huffed. "Where's the dressing?"
Sasuke tapped the small container that had the dressing in it. I poured the dressing on my salad and ate some.
"Good, right?" Sasuke said with a small smile. "Very healthy."
"Healthy is nasty."
Naruto chuckled.
After I finished my salad, I stood up. "I'm gonna go give my cheesecake to Shinori."
"Why?" Sasuke said.
"We have a lot at home. I wanna do something nice for him," I said before kissing Sasuke's cheek and walking away.
Once I got down to Shinori's new 'cell', I flicked on the light. His cell was a lot better than the one he was in before. The cell was the only cell in this hall. There is a large bed and a door where the bathroom is. There was a small shower, a toilet, and a sink inside, and I put stickers on the door.
"Shinori?"
There was water running, then he walked out of the bathroom. "Hey, ____."
I smiled. "I brought you cheesecake! Sasuke brought me a stupid salad for lunch," I mumbled.
Shinori chuckled. "You should be eating healthy."
"Now you sound like him," I said with an eye roll. "Here, take the cake."
Shinori took the cake and the fork. "Thank you."
"So, how are you?" I asked, leaning against the wall opposite to his cell.
"I'm okay," He said. "Can you open the cell? Take this chair, you should sit." I paused for a moment. He pushed a chair over to the door to the cell, then sat down. I grabbed the keys off the wall and opened the door. Then, I slid the chair out and closed it back.
"Thank you," I said before sitting down in front of it.
Shinori sighed and laid on his bed. "I think," he paused. "It's time to tell you my past."
"Are you sure?"
He nodded. "I think you deserve to know more than anyone." I stayed silent for a moment, and he started.
"Danzo," he said. I paused. "That asshole?"
Shinori chuckled. "Yea. I think I should start from the beginning.
~ye~
"You disgrace!" A man yelled before throwing another slap at a seven-year-old Shinori. He was tall and buff, with jet black hair and red eyes.
"Stop!" A woman exclaimed. "Stop hitting my child! He did nothing wrong!" She was beautiful, with shoulder-length red hair and red eyes.
The man whipped his head around and glared down at the mother of his child. "You spoil him too much. He's weak! What if-"
"Don't talk about that in front of him! It's not his fault he's not a fighter. If you care so much about that, train him instead of beating him!"
The man scoffed.
"So- you were beaten as a child?" Shinori nodded. "My father didn't like me, to say the least. I wasn't good enough- wasn't strong enough to protect myself from," he paused. "Whatever it was that they did."
"You never found out?"
He shook his head. "My father," he paused. "He told me I had to fight in order to get what I want in life. That's all he would say about the subject. My mother was murdered when I was ten, and my father left us a year before that."
I paused. "Who killed her? Where did he go?"
Shinori looked over at me. His bright red eyes seemed to literally peer into my soul. "My mother was killed by the leaf's anbu."
I stood up, as fast as my belly would allow me. "What!? I guess that would explain why you hate Danzo but- why?"
Shinori shrugged. "I never got to find out. Sasuke killed him before I ever got the chance to find my answers."
"Oh," I said.
Shinori nodded. "After my parents died, I traveled to different villages and learned the way of the ninja," he said.
Before he could continue his story, I heard the door open. "_____? You still in here?" Sasuke's voice echoes through the hall.
"Yea, just talking to Shinori," I called back. Footsteps echoed through the hall, then Sasuke appeared. "Where's the chair come from?"
"Shinori gave it to me."
"You... opened his cell?"
I know what you're thinking. I was hesitant to, but it was fine."
"Hn," Sasuke said before bending down and kissing my cheek.
"Does he know yet?" Shinori asked. I pushed Sasuke away and nodded. "Yep!"
"Congrats," he said. Sasuke stared at him for a moment. "C'mon. Naruto just got a lot of work come in from one of the other secretaries. That's why I came to get you."
"Oh, okay," I said before grabbing the keys and unlocking Shinori's cell. Then I put the chair into his room and closed it back.
"I'll see you later, Shinori."
"Thank you for the cake," he said. I nodded before walking away with Sasuke.
"I love you!" He said as I walked away.
