Insecurity is a bitch.

Once it plunges its claws into your heart then it is nearly impossible to get rid of it.

If you are confident even then others will try to make you insecure by forcing their views on you.

I have never let other people's thinking affect me but sometimes it becomes impossible not to get affected by them. Normally, I don't give a fuck what others say, but other times I will fuck them up if they get on my wrong side.

Currently, I am hoping not to break the face of this woman named Ivanna who is trying to belittle everyone, especially me because I am from a creative field.

Should I tell her that how I can hand her her ass in different ways, that too creatively?

Probably not, because I am trying to keep my good girl image. Although I don't think I can keep this up for long if she keeps annoying me, still I will try.

I am at Adam's sister's house warming party where she invited their childhood friends as well, some of them I am meeting for the first time.

Honestly, Ivanna is an outright bitch as she is not leaving any chance to prove that she is better than all of us. Since she is a lawyer herself, just like Adam, she thinks that I am beneath her because I don't own a so-called fancy degree like her.

Thankfully, it doesn't seem like she is after my husband because then I would have already knocked off her few teeth by now.

Not only Ivanna but even her fiance, Josh, is one snobbish bastard, who has been just trying to show that he comes from money. And it is annoying me to no bound as most of Adam's friends are self-made and the way he is trying to put them down is just disgusting. Although he is mostly making a fool of himself as most of them are making fun of him.

I am just keeping my mouth shut because I don't want to ruin Stella's, Adam's sister's, house warming party. After all, she's really excited about this. This is the first home she and her husband has brought even though it is not a big house but still, it is their dream. Also, the happiness which is present on their sons' faces is stopping me to ruin this Ivanna's face.

Sometimes, it is important to think about others and do what makes them happy, instead of only focusing on yourself. I will not have any issue in putting Ivanna and her fiance in their places but I don't want to, because I want Stella and her family to remember this day as a day that was perfect and filled with only good memories.

Even though sometimes Stella looks uncomfortable with Ivanna's attitude yet she seems to be happy around every one of her friends and family. Maybe Ivanna must have been a good friend to her and Adam, a good friend who happens to be a bitch, that's why she has invited her as well.

However, what I have assumed is that Ivanna is a bitch but a harmless bitch. Someone who just loves irritating others but doesn't really mean any harm, probably that's why everyone else is not paying much heed to her.

After grinding my teeth for twenty minutes, I remove myself from Ivanna's and her fiance's company and decided to spend some time with Adam's nephews Chris and Jordon who are playing in their room.

Chris was the ring bearer at our wedding and I have figured he is a bit of an introvert but overall a really sweet kid. While Jordon is quite outgoing and chatty, he is just four but he has so much to talk about like he can go on and on for hours. Once he told me nearly an hour-long story about his first band-aid, and he would have continued it if Stella wouldn't have stopped him.

"When is Uncle Adam coming?" Chris asks when I am done drawing a truck for Jordon.

"He has said he will be here in an hour or so," I answer him and hand crayons to Jordon so that he can start coloring.

Adam informed me that something important came up so he will not be able to reach here on time. He asked me that I should drive here alone, then later he will join us.

Since Adam's parents are not coming, so Stella was worried about how she is going to handle so many things, so I had offered Stella to help her with the party. That's why I reached here before anyone and helped her with the arrangements.

My in-laws are really nice and loving people, who welcomed me into the family with open arms. Whenever I visit any one of them, even if I visit them without Adam, they never made me feel like an outsider. His parents don't live in the same city as us, but I am very much in touch with them.

So when I offered Stella to help with the party, I genuinely want to help her because I know it would have been difficult for her to take care of everything along with looking after the boys.

Everything was going fine and we all were enjoying it until Ivanna showed up. Since Stella introduced me to her I am her constant target. Maybe because she thinks she can intimidate me, you know like a new kid in school.

But what she doesn't know that I won't be Hannah Williams if I let people like her intimidate me.

After talking with the boys for some more time, I leave them to play in their room, making a mental note to check on them after some time. Walking back into the lounge I sit with Stella who is talking with some of her college friends. Stella had an all-girls group in her college so it's really cool to hear their talks as they share their stories with me.

Nearly, after an hour Adam arrived looking tired but happy.

Giving a brief hug to Stella, Adam directly walks towards me ignoring everyone. Then without saying anything holding my hand he drags me towards the guest bedroom.

"Where were you, mister?" Narrowing my eyes playfully at him, I place my hands at my hips, "Are you seeing someone behind my back?"

Adam laughs then pretends to look guilty.

"How did you find out?" He feigns a shocked expression, "I was being so discreet."

"So who is the girl who was keeping you away from me?" Raising my eyebrow, I cross my arms over my chest.

He is about to play along but then he lightly shakes his head as a soft expression comes across his face.

"I went to see Abigail." He smiles, however, hearing Abigail's name I instantly become worried.

"Nothing to worry... she is okay." He quickly adds noticing my concerned expression, "She trusts me." He smiles brightly while my concern changes into confusion.

"Of course she does." I look at him trying to figure what does he mean.

"No, Hannah, she trusts me." He raises his eyebrows slowly nods his head emphasizing each word as if it will clear my confusion.

"She called and asked me if I can meet her alone." His lips stretch into a smile, "She wanted me to know that she trusts me just like she trusts all of you guys, her family. She even hugged me." His eyes shine brightly as he chuckles.

My mouth hangs open while my heart expands with happiness because I know how big this is for Abigail and even for Adam. Earlier, whenever they have met I have always been with them. So she stepping out of her comfort zone and meeting him alone, is a way of her showing that she trusts him completely and believes that he will never harm her.

"She shared with me what happened that night." His expression turns serious, however, the hint of pain is evident in his voice, "How she is trying to overcome her fears."

She has finally accepted him as her family.

The only people Abigail has talked about that night are us. She goes to therapy which mom forces her to go, but knowing her I can tell since she mostly keeps her feelings to herself, so she might not have shared everything with her therapist. The only people who are truly aware of the truth are us and now she even talked to Adam about this. It is not easy for her to speak about what she went through but whenever she does it means that she has taken another step towards her recovery.

"You know," He glances at me, his face unable to hide his happiness which is reflecting in his smile, "I am so proud of her. I don't know how much difficult this path of healing is for her, but I am going to be there for her." The sincerity in his tone swells my heart with pride and love and I know he will always fulfill his promise.
