A few weeks later.
"Have you eaten something?" Adam asks as soon as I answer the call, "You need to have small healthy snacks from time to time so that you don't feel sick."
"Adam, I have just reached to work I have not even turned on my laptop." Sitting on the chair, I keep my laptop bag on the table letting out an exasperated sigh.
"Well, that's good it means you can have a snack before starting your work," He replies, and I can assume him nodding his head with a serious expression on his face. "I have packed some carrots with hummus for you, you can easily munch them even while working." He adds.
I don't even know how to be angry at him when he is being so considerate and caring. He has always been a really caring husband, but since the moment we found out that I am pregnant he has turned protective too. He doesn't breathe down my neck, but he keeps on checking from time to time on me.
He makes sure that I am having my vitamins daily, also he encourages me to eat in small proportions throughout the day so I don't feel drained. Even though my office is in the completely opposite direction of his, but almost every day he comes to have lunch with me, especially when I am craving for something he never fails to bring that thing for me. Sometimes he goes out of his way to make me feel comfortable and fulfill my needs.
Every day I think I love him a little more.
"And don't forget to wind up your work before lunch, we have a doctor's appointment today so you have to take off for the rest of the day." He reminds me, making me slap my forehead because I have completely forgotten about the appointment.
In my defense, I don't need to because he is keeping a tab on all these things. More than me he is aware of my medicines, appointments, and makes sure I never miss any of them.
"Don't worry, I know very well that you must have forgotten about it so I've already talked to Beth." The smugness in his tone makes me rolls my eyes.
For now, only mom knows that I am pregnant because I started having morning sickness so she pretty much figured it out herself. Also, Adam said that he will feel at ease knowing that mom is there to look after me in the office, so there is no need for hiding this from her.
We are thinking to have a small family get together to share this news with our families, but we didn't get much time to plan anything.
"Okay, I will call you in an hour or two." He speaks in a rushed tone probably he has realized he has something important to attend, "And do to eat something."
"Bye, and I love you." He hangs up the call, leaving a smile on my face.
"Hey, what's up doc?" I poorly mimic bugs bunny's voice and laugh at my poor attempt while munching on the baby carrots as I start my day.
"Oh, this is interesting," The doctor says to herself in a quiet voice while looking at the screen whereas I am trying hard to figure what I am looking at.
I look at Adam who is trying to look excited but in reality, even he is as clueless as me.
"I hope you are prepared for this." The doctor raises her eyebrows at us, as she turns her chair in our direction.
"As long as I am not giving birth to some alien, I think I can handle anything." I shrug because when the first time I saw the thing which the doctor referred to as a baby it definitely didn't look human to me.
"I can guarantee you that you are definitely not giving birth to any aliens." She suppresses her laughter.
"That's such a relief to know-" I stop in a mid-sentence as I pay attention to what she has said.
