Ryleigh yawned as she walked out of the bathroom, towel drying her hair. It was three in the morning and Ranboo was out cold on his bed. He had school the next morning and Ryleigh didn't want to disturb his sleep so she put in earbuds when doing her school work. She had yet to get used to the timezone, so she was wide awake.

Ryleigh's music paused and a ringtone came through her phone. She unplugged her earbuds and walked downstairs carefully.

"Hello?" She whispered into the phone.

"Hey baby."

"Luka why are you calling me?" She asked angrily.

"You're my girlfriend."

"Im not. Now's not a good time can i-"

"No. Talk to me now."

"Luka its-"

"Its what? Late? It's eight in the morning Love." She sighed and blinked back her sudden tears. Ryleigh hung up the phone and sat on the couch.

"Hey, whats wrong?" Tommy asked, walking down the stairs.

"My ex just called, don't worry about it, Im fine." She said. The boy nodded and sat next to her.

"He's an ass you know, he doesn't know what he lost." He reassured

"He never really knew what he had." She whispered.

"How so?"

"The reason i freaked out today, Tommy,
wasnt because of you. We dated for two years. He hurt me for eighteen months. He made me lose my friends. I had to hide the marks from my other half. I didn't know it was wrong, until you. You were mean to me, yeah, but there were those small conversations we would have where you told me it was a bit and you didnt mean it...and you made me feel special when nobody else could. You treated me the way i should have been. Once i realized that i acted differently towards him and he took notice and just got more violent. He broke up with me a few days or weeks before you visited for the first time." She confessed. "It wasn't you, Tommy. If anything you're the one who saved me from that."

Tommy was speechless. He was unsure of what to say. He just pulled the girl into a hug, tucking her head under his chin. She melted into his embrace, sighing in contentment.

"Im sorry i didnt say anything sooner." She apologized.

"No, you didnt even have to explain it now. Don't feel obligated to tell people. Tell people when you are comfortable, Ryleigh." She nodded softly with a smile. They both agreed to watch a movie quietly in her room. They both fell asleep and only woke up when she heard Ranboo start the shower the next morning.
