I thought I was a fool for no one

Y/N was wondering whether it was really a good idea to insist on switching patrol routes with Murasaki and Shishido. They had been suspicious, Oboro and Hizashi had been suspicious, but... well, they had to make sure that Hitoshi's friend was okay, didn't they? And that's why they were here. Checking up on the kid, because he was acting really suspicious.

Shota followed Y/N stealthily into the night, silently observing the area as they continued to wander this route. It was a much poorer neighborhood, somewhat like a ghost town. Not many people are seen here, but a lot of crimes happen around the place.

"So... which house did he say it was again? Because these all look like no one lives there." Y/N muttered, looking around. This area was even poorer than the place she had had her apartment in, and that was already in a fairly bad part of town.

"It should be that apartment." Shota pointed towards a tall building.

"No way. You can't tell me that anyone actually lives there!" Y/N replied. This place looked like it was ancient, the windows were mostly broken and it looked like it was about to fall apart any moment.

"Some of the lights are on from the window." Shota pointed out.

"How is there still electricity in there...? Well, nevermind. Let's go and check then."

"One of the windows is open, so we can use it to get in. Are we going inside?" Shota asked.

"I'm not sure. I mean we can try the door bell first? Although I doubt that it actually works..." Y/N replied, scratching the back of her neck. Was this really where Izuku lived?

"Let's hope this isn't really where he lives."

He mentally cringed as he looked at the deteriorating apartment building. Y/N nodded and walked up to the door. She pressed some of the door bells, but she couldn't hear any noise from inside the building. She was pretty sure they weren't actually working. After waiting for a while, she tried to open the door, but it was locked.

"Breaking in would be wrong, would it?"

Shota tried to unlock the door by turning the knob. Y/N looked around the building and saw a window that was broken. She quickly climbed in through the window, ignoring Shota's comment about breaking in being wrong.

"Come on, Sho. With a broken window like that, we'll have to make sure that no one broke into this place and is robbing people, right? We're not breaking in, we're just making sure that no one else did before us." she said, as she hopped into the room on the other side. Shota deadpanned.

"We're supposed to be vigilantes, Y/N, we can't break into some kid's apartment."

"The window's broken, someone clearly tried to break in before us. Do you have a better idea?" Y/N asked. Shota grumbled.
