I felt around my arms.
Pressing and prodding for signs of some type of illusion.
There was none.
"Woah."
I tried to sit up but I found myself extremely weak.
I groaned slightly at the soreness all over my body but it wasn't the main inhibitor of my movements.
My brother then moved the orc and the woman aside to get past them and over to me.
I saw the orc about to confront my brother about moving them aside, but the woman just put her hand on her shoulder.
They exchanged a hesitant glare, before the orc sighed and relaxed its posture.
"Are you ok? Any bleeding?" My brother asked with a bit of concern.
Given the situation, you'd assume he'd sound a little more, invested I guess, but I guess this is as much as I'll get.
I do prefer people with a cool head though so I don't really take offense.
"No, I don't think. Goddamn my back hurts." I say with my breath a little staggered due to the pain in my back.
It feels like the pain I get sometimes when I stand for too long, and I need to lay on the floor for a minute.
"Can I look at your back?" He asked with little change in tone.
"No, it's fine I just need a minute." I say trying to keep the pain under control, while taking deep breaths
"I just want to be safe." He said trying to sound a little passive, he knows how I get when people talk too much when I'm in pain.
"Fine, whatever makes you happy." I said dismissively.
I slowly rolled onto my stomach and waited for him.
He nodded and pushed the back of my shirt up.
It being dark he leaned in a bit closer, and then I could hear him audibly suck air through his teeth.
"Hey, see that tree over there?" He said like he saw something in the distance that intrigued him.
Me, still being concerned about the local wolf threat in the area, looked inquisitively, into the darkness.
"Where? Is it o-" I was once again cut off, but instead of it being my brother this time, it was the feeling similar to that of hot oil being poured onto my back.
"You massive fucking!-" I then trailed off into making noises that have to have been pretty close to what the cave men made when they discovered fire.
Make of that what you will.
"Sorry! Sorry!"
After that I immediately knew the woman from before was doing the same thing from earlier.
I was gonna cuss her out, but I realized how pointless that would be and just bit down and did my best to deal with it.
I didn't notice it, but when the wolf jumped me, it must've clawed up my back pretty bad, it the only way I could've fucked up my back enough for her to be doing whatever it is she's doing.
"Ok, all done!" She said like she was being timed.
Once she announced she was done, I didn't even move.
I was just trying to make sure I had everything under control, mentally and physically.
I don't get angry easily but when I do, I tend to be extremely aggressive.
