“But of course, milord.” The waitress said, matching his tone.
Then she blew a horn.
“Oh, Manticore!”
Suddenly, a Manticore mascot walked out, it waddled towards them and pulled Ian into a hug, making him groan.
“No. No, no, no. The real Manticore. The fearless adventurer.” Barley said, freeing his brother from the mascot's clutches, making it sigh in sadness.
“Oh. You mean Corey? She's over there.” The waitress said, pointing to the kitchen.
Suddenly a large woman with dragon wings, lion body and feet, and really giant two side teeth, burst out of the kitchen, holding a couple of plates.
“Quick! Somebody help me. These griffin nuggets were supposed to go out minutes ago.”
A few waiters came over and took the plates from her.
“That's the Manticore?” Ian asked in disbelief, as [Y/n] came to stand by him, admiring the photos she had taken on her tablet.
Barley walked forward, and bowed before the Manticore.
“Oh, great and powerful Manticore.”
Corey jerked back in surprise.“Whoa! Sir, you're right in the hot zone.”
A goblin walked out of the kitchen.
“You're late, Adolphus.” Corey said to him.
He started talking in his gibberish language.
“I understand there's traffic. You need to plan for that.”
Gibberish.
“Well, maybe your mother should get her own car!” Corey yelled in frustration, before turning to the kitchen counter, and grabbing two plates of burgers and fries.
“Your fearlessness?” Barley called out making Corey turn to them.
“My brother, friend and I seek a map to a Phoenix Gem.”
“Oh! Well, you've come to the right tavern.” Corey said to them, before handing the plates in her hand to a waitress, whispering; “Table 12.”
“I have the parchment you desire right here. Behold!” She said, pulling a small paper.
“Uh……that's a children's menu.” [Y/n] said confused.
“Isn't that fun? They're all based on my old maps.” Corey said.
“Uh, now...The great Manticore sends you on your adventure with a hero's blessing. And here's some crayons.”
Corey tossed the crayons at Ian, and turned away from them.
Barley laughed nervously, groveling before her.
“That's very amusing, your dominance, but might you have the real map?”
“Uh, yeah. It's, uh, over there.” Corey said distractedly, pointing at a wall filled with antiques.
There the map sat in a glass frame on the wall.
The trio gasped in excitement.
“That's it. This is perfect.” Barley said, grabbing the map.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! What are you doing? You can't take this.” Corey said, grabbing the map from Barley.
“We have to.” [Y/n] said, as Barley lifted the sweatshirt off from Will’s upper half, revealing his legs.
Corey gasped.
