"If you want to go to Mt. Sagiri, you'll have to cross over that mountain. But the sun's about to set. Are you really heading there with all that luggage? It's dangerous, you know." The kind woman said as she and her son looked at you with worry.

"I'll be careful. Thank you very much!" you exclaimed as you bowed to the woman and continue on your path.

"People have gone missing lately! Try not to lose your way!" The woman called out. "I will! Thank you!" you replied as you looked back and waved her goodbye.

"Ah, it's nightfall already. Douma-kun, you can come out now. There's no sunlight anymore." You exclaimed as you helped Douma out of the basket. Douma grew back to his normal size and gave you a hug to which you returned it.

"Come, Urokodaki-san might be waiting for us." You said as you got out of the hug. Douma took your hand and intertwined it with his, you blushed at his actions as he began to lead the way. Douma began to get more expressive lately ever since he turned into a demon, you didn't mind though as long as he is happy with himself.

You suddenly remembered something as your eyes widened and you stopped in your tracks. Douma looked back and noticed you stop, he began to look you over thinking you had an injury but found none. "Douma-kun," you started making Douma's rainbow eyes bore into yours. "Won't your followers be worried about you when they noticed you haven't come back? Don't you think they'll panic when they find out their cult leader is missing?" You asked in worry as Douma just blinked.

Douma shrugged his shoulders as an answer making you sweat dropped. 'That really isn't a good answer somehow.' you thought. Douma hummed and patted your head, trying to reassure you that it's fine. He then gave you a gentle tug as the two of you began to walk again. 'I promise, I'll find a cure to turn you back into a human.' you thought as Douma slightly squeezed your hand.

"Excuse me! Do you know which way to Mt. Sagiri?" A voice yelled out as you and Douma looked back to see a boy with burgundy hair and a black and green checkered haori, he also wore what seems to be hanafuda earrings. Besides him was a girl with black hair and orange tips, she wore a light pink kimono that was covered by a dark brown haori. 'Strange. The girl beside him also has a bamboo muzzle like Douma's.' you thought as you realized the boy was staring at you.

"Ah I'm sorry, I don't know which way it is but we are also heading there." you informed as the boy looked at you in shock. "Is that so? Then let's go together! My name is Tanjiro Kamado and this is my little sister Nezuko." the boy now known as Tanjiro introduced. "I'm (Y/N) (L/N) and this is my friend Douma." you replied as you gave them a friendly smile.

You felt wind coming from your right and you saw Douma fanning your face. "What is it Douma-kun?" you asked as he pointed to a temple not too far away. Tanjiro saw what he was pointing at. "There's light leaking through, so someone must be there. We can ask someone for directions there." Tanjiro suggested. "Let's check it out." you exclaimed as the four of you went to the temple.

Tanjiro stiffened as he let out a gasp. "Tanjiro-kun? What's wrong?" you asked, concern written on your face. "I smell blood!" He exclaimed as he looked at you with panic. Your eyes widened at how he quickly smelled the blood from far away. "This mountain path is pretty rough. Someone must have gotten hurt!" you thought aloud as Tanjiro nodded. The four of you then hurried your way to the temple. You all ran up the stairs and opened the door of the temple. You quickly placed the basket outside so you can help the injured faster.

"Are you alright?!" you and Tanjiro simultaneously exclaimed. Your eyes widened at the scene in front of you. There lay the corpses of the people who must have visited the temple. In the center was a demon devouring them with his back facing you four. You felt Douma's grip on your hand tightened as he stared at the corpses.
