Saving My Demon (Douma x Reader)

You watched as the snow gently fall around the trees and ground, covering them in a white blanket.

You saw a snowflake slowly falling towards you as you held out your small hand. "What are you doing, (Y/N)-chan?" you heard a voice exclaimed.

You turned to see child Douma tilting his head as he looked at you. "I'm looking at the snowflakes." you replied.

"You must really love snowflakes. Why?" Douma asked as the two of you sat on your house's patio. "Well, snowflakes can be a symbol of rebirth. When it melts, it transforms into water. They symbolize transformations and maybe a new beginning." you explained as you looked at the snowy environment.

"I see." Douma said as he touched one of the snowflakes that were falling. "Can I tell you something weird?" you asked as Douma looked at you and nodded.

"I've been having these dreams about a woman. I was crying about how weak I am then it's like she was comforting me and she calls me her child. She said something to me that didn't make any sense..." you trailed off as Douma patted your shoulder. "What did she told you?" Douma asked.

" 'You are not a powerless speck of dust drifting around in the wind... we are, each of us, like snowflakes. Beautiful, unique, and born for a specific reason and purpose.'

That's what she told me." you answered. "Well, I'm not sure myself but I think there was a hidden meaning behind her words." Douma exclaimed as he turned to look at you.

"But I don't know the reason why and my purpose." you said as you felt someone holding your hand. You looked down to see Douma's hand holding yours. "You might not know it today but you will find and understand it in the future. I'll stay by your side and help you." Douma exclaimed as he gave you a reassuring smile.

You looked at Douma and intertwined your hand in his as you gave him a bright smile. "Thank you, Douma-kun." you happily exclaimed. Douma's eyes widened and he felt his face becoming warm but returned your smile nonetheless.

The two of you were suddenly hit in the face with something cold. You and Douma wiped off the snow on your faces as you both heard laughter not far away from you.

"Headshot!!"

"Nice throw, Kai!!"

You heard Akira and Kai's voices exclaimed. You and Douma looked at each other and had a mischievous grin. The two of you quickly grabbed some snow on the ground and formed it into a ball. You and Douma nodded to each other as you both threw the snowballs towards your little siblings who were too busy laughing.

The snowballs landed on both Kai and Akira as they fell to the ground from the impact. They sat up with wide eyes as their faces were covered with snow. This time, it was you and Douma who were laughing.

Kai quickly stood up and began to create more snowballs.

"It's on now!!" Kai yelled as Akira also grabbed some snow.

"Bring it!!" you replied.

A long battle took place as you all ended up inside your house, warming up. You grabbed another blanket as you draped it around your shivering siblings.

"N-n-no f-fair. How c-come you aren't c-c-cold?" Kai stuttered out as he looked at you. Douma helped your mother set some tea on the table as you just shrugged.

"I guess the cold never bothered me." you replied.

You slowly opened your eyes and looked around your surroundings.  'I must be at the Butterfly Estate..... again.' you thought as you heard the door to the room opening.

You turned and found yourself staring back at the Mist Pillar. "Oh, wrong room." Muichiro exclaimed as he went inside the room and sat down on a bed close to yours.

"You're one of the swordsmen from the Sengoku Era, right?" Muichiro bluntly asked. "Erm.. I guess so?" you answered, unsure as you jumped a bit when Muichiro started to inspect you closely.

"Who are you? You seem familiar yet I can't remember." Muichiro said as he blankly stared at you. "Oh, I'm (Y/N) (L/N). You might remember me from the trial with Oyakata-sama. I'm also the Ice Pillar." you said as Muichiro stared off into space.

"Okay. I'll probably forget again." Muichiro replied as he stood up. "I'm going to go to the swordsmith village." Muichiro stated. "Oh, okay then. Be careful!" you exclaimed as you gave him a smile.

Muichiro's eyes widened as he looked at you. "Wha?... what did you say just now?" Muichiro asked as he looked at you with wide eyes.

"Hm? Be careful?" you asked as Muichiro nodded slowly and left the room.

"I wonder what was that about... he reminds me of someone." you mumbled as you remembered the Mist Pillar's blank expression when it suddenly transformed into a familiar older brother of yours.

"Ah! He reminded me of Yorii-nii!" you exclaimed as you made snapping sounds with your fingers.

"I wonder where the others are." you thought aloud as you slowly stood up from the bed. You went out of the room and walked around the hallways. You tried to run but you felt a jolt of pain from your leg as you quickly stopped. 'Right. I forgot that I got hit by a dagger in the leg.' you thought to yourself as you recalled the events of the Red Light District.

"I wonder if Hinatsuru-san and Uzui-san's other wives have made it out safe." you mumbled as you bumped into someone.

"Ah! (L/N)-sama! You shouldn't be walking around when you just recovered!" you turned to see you bumped into a kakushi. "Oh, you're Gotou-san, right?" you asked as you watched the kakushi nodded repeatedly. "You don't have to be so formal with me. Here have some candy." you exclaimed as you took Gotou's hand and placed three pieces of candy in it.

"Um... you still have to rest..." Gotou said as you shook your head. "I'm fine. I need to find Douma-kun or the other Upper Moons. Have you seen them or know where they are?" you asked.

"Well, I saw them at the training room when I walked passed it." Gotou answered. "Alrighty then. Thank you!" you exclaimed with a smile as you turned and began to head to find the others. Gotou began to panic when he saw you wobble in your steps.

"L-let me carry you there!" Gotou exclaimed as he picked you up and ran to the training room.

"Eh? Okay then." you replied.
