The next morning, I was woken up by the loud voice of Gahyeon telling me to wake up because they were waiting for me to start "the rituals".
"Yes, I'm coming but first I will get dressed, then I will join you."
"Okay but be fast. I'm so excited for this to work. Do you think that maybe after this we could go visit the city. That would be so cool." She said so excited and then left the room.
I better get this right or I'm about to disappoint a lot of people.
I got dressed quickly and got all the stuff that I needed. Once I got out of my room, I could hear a lot of noise coming from downstairs.
From the noise I couldn't differ if they were arguing or excited about breaking the curse.
Either way, I headed downstairs just to be received by mixed energies.
Some of the girls looked excited, others nervous and other skeptics about how effective it was.
"Finally you're here. Let's start now." Jiu said enthusiastically.
"Yes I'm here. Let's start with the ones that need to be done in the morning."
"So what do we need for it?" Siyeon asked.
"I have everything in my backpack. Could you take out the candle and the green book too?" I asked Dami who was the closest to it.
Once everything was installed, we began the spell or ritual or whatever that was.
At the first try nothing happened, we tried again and still nothing. We went to the next one but as the previous one it was also a failure and the following one too and it continued like this until it was night and there was only one left.
"This is our only last chance. What if it doesn't work out, what are we going to do?!" Yoohyeon said frustrated.
"It will work out, it has to work out!" Handong said with hope but you could clearly tell that she had none left.
I started to draw a circle around them with salt; they stood up in the circle hands in hands and at the same time they recited words in a language that I didn't know. I supposed it must have been latin or grec perhaps.
After they finished reciting the spell, we waited for a while to see if anything would happen but nothing. We tried again and still nothing.
"Fuck this shit! I'm out of here!" Sua said furiously, kicking the candle which thankfully went out. She then went upstairs, which no much later was followed by a slamming door. Naturally, she was followed by Siyeon who didn't look happy about every ritual failing.
The room was silent except for the sobs in the background. I didn't know how to feel, I felt guilty. Part of it was my fault. If only I hadn't been so caught up with my break up, I could have done better.
Gahyeon and Handong were on the verge of crying, Dami and Yoohyeon looked like they were still processing everything and Jiu was walking back and forth frustrated.
"I can do more research, maybe I can find more things. I'm sure I will find something." I said.
"No this is not your fault, I guess we were just meant to be cursed forever." Handong said.
"Don't say that! I'm sure we will find a solution, we haven't done anything wrong. We don't deserve this, it's unfair!" Yoohyeon said.
"I can't do this anymore! Don't follow me please, I need some time alone." Jiu said, exasperated and frustrated. Like the other two girls she headed upstairs.
