You turned your camera on, changing the normal call to a video one.

Karl's pov:
I can't believe y/n asked me to video call. Will they show their face? I don't know, do I want to see their face? I mean obviously I do, but I'd that the only reason I like them, because I want to see their face? No Karl, you like them for who they are, what am I talking about, I don't like them in that way anyway, do I?

3rd person pov:
Karl was zoned out and didn't notice that y/n had already turned their camera on, he was caught up in his thoughts, too confused to notice anything. "Karl? KARL!?" y/n shouted through the call. "What? Oh sorry y/n I forgot I zoned out for a second." Karl apologised, y/n understanding and saying it was ok. He looked up at his pc turning his camera on and realising that y/n had already got their's on. They weren't in the view of the camera, again only the top of their head. Karl felt disappointment rush over his body, was he really that excited to see them? "y/n?" He asked. "Yes Karl?"
"It's ok if you don't want to answer, but can I ask why don't you use a face-cam on your streams?" Karl felt an instant feeling of regret take over his body, he felt as though he'd messed everything up with just that one question, y/n only paused for a few seconds but for Karl it felt like hours. "It's ok," they started "I used to get bullied for my appearance in school and since then I've been really insecure about my looks, I didn't want people to start hating on me again so I've never done a face reveal, I've never really let much get to me but that did, and it hurt me and still does now even though it's over." they confessed, leaving Karl not knowing what to say. "Oh." was all that came out of his mouth, he wanted to say how he was sure they'd be beautiful but didn't want to make them uncomfortable. Karl looked up at his pc again, now being met with one blue/green eye in the corner of his screen. He didn't expect it and jump slightly as y/n asked if he wanted to see them. "Are you sure y/n, you don't have to if you're not comfortable with it." Karl said. "No it's ok, I want to." They replied. "Ok but only if you're sure," Karl said, trying to disguise his excitement, forgetting he also had his camera on so y/n could see his wide smile making them blush.

Y/N's pov:
"Ok but only if you're sure," Karl said, smiling like a little kid. He had obviously forgotten he had his camera on as I giggled slightly and he realised trying not to smile as much but failing, a blush covering his face too. I tilted my camera down a bit so my whole face was in view. "Wow! You're so pretty!" Karl said before he could realise what he said making the two of us blush even more, turning into a laughing fit. "thank you" I said after calming down. "No but seriously, you are." Karl said, his voice sounded genuine, more than it usually did when he spoke to me, did he like me as well or is he just being a good friend? It's obviously the second one y/n, why would Karl like you, I mean he's Karl and you're just you, right? You got distracted by your thoughts and only came back when you heard Karl's voice shouting through your headset, bringing you back to the real world. "I'm sorry I was just thinking about-" you stopped yourself from telling him what you were actually thinking about and just said "it doesn't matter."
"Ok, well I have to stream soon, you can stay on call if you want, but just deafen yourself at first cause I'm going to be doing lore at the start." Karl said, changing the subject. "Ok sure you agreed before Karl got ready to stream, sending out a tweet and you deafened yourself so you didn't interrupt his lore. About half an hour into his stream he messaged you saying it was ok to undeafen and come into the call now. You did as he said and said hello to his chat. The rest of the stream was pretty normal but you and Karl kept exchanging flirts throughout, the chat picking up on them as they quickly came up with ship names for you both. "Guys we're just friends please don't put ship names in the chat I don't want to make y/n uncomfortable," Karl said to his chat, you picking up on how he said make you uncomfortable, was he ok with it? Did he like you? Maybe he did? What if he did?

*time skip to end of stream*

Karl ended his stream, you and him saying bye to chat then sitting in silence still on call to each other. It wasn't an awkward silence though, a comfortable one. After a few minutes of just sitting there, you broke the quiet by asking something that had been on your mind ever since Karl said it. "Karl?"
"Yes?" he questioned. "When chat was putting ship names for us you said you do t want them to make me uncomfortable, weren't you uncomfortable with it?" You asked, although you didn't want to ask him you couldn't help but want to know the answer. "Karl..."
"Well... umm.."
