Steve woke up, his head pounding. He lay there for a minute in the cooling water before he felt something stirring in his arms. He could smell her perfume, her red hair just below his chin. He couldn't believe she was actually with him. They could still be dead for all he knew yet but he didn't think so. Clint had described waking up in a pool of water after he got the soul stone.

He looked up and saw the the sun was rising rather quickly and that they needed to get to Morgan before she left thinking Steve was gone. He looked down at Nat and kissed her sleeping forehead and he picked her up bridal style and ran to where Morgan had left her ship. It wasn't there. He was too late.

Morgan had left Vormir, she'd gone thinking Steve was dead and now was roaming around space alone. Possibly worse though, him and Natasha were stranded in space with no food and no way home.

Natasha woke about half an hour later Steve was sitting on a rock, he was so lost in thought he didn't see her wake. He didn't notice she had moved until she was behind him running her hands down his tense shoulders. 'What's worrying you Steve?'

'We're stuck.'

Natasha's eyes widened as she realised the problem. She knew that Morgan was here earlier and that she was not anymore.

'Well that is a problem. Yeah.' She looked around. 'This is where she should be?'

Steve sighed. 'I told her to leave if I wasn't back by sunrise. I wanted her to get back to safety as quick as possible if I was dead too. If she left at sunrise she should be with Thor by this evening.

Obviously the problem now is that Morgan's ship is the only way for us to get home too.'

They sat in a shocker silence as the severity of the issue sunk in. Natasha fiddled with the wrist band of the suit she was wearing and she gasped slightly. 'My suit still has the trip home from the first mission wired into it.'

'Great. That's perfect. You can go home. It will take you straight back to the old avengers compound. From there you can go to New Asgard. And meet Morgan when she gets back.'

Natasha walked over to him and put her hands on his arms causing him to stop pacing. 'I'm not going anywhere unless I know your coming home too.'

He kissed her lightly and sat down again trying to think. After a minute Steve spoke up again.
'Well you can change the settings right? Tony and I changed the settings on our ones during the mission so it took us to a different location from where we were originally supposed to go. You could change yours so it takes you to the planet where Morgan is meeting Thor this evening and tell them that we are ok and then you can come back for me. Does that work?'

Natasha smiled. 'Yeah that would work. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go fix myself up. I can't walk around some foreign planet looking like someone who has been dead for more than 10 years.'

Steve chuckled. 'You look better than I ever do but of course.'

They spend the rest of the day waiting until the sun was beginning to set and Nat had to leave again. Steve had brushed Natasha's hair with his fingers whilst she sat in his lap and they caught up on what had happened since she died.

She listened to the story of the battle at the compound and loved that so many people came together to help defeat Thanos. She hadn't known Tony was dead yet. That probably came as a shock. Neither of them had had the chance to apologise for their actions in Berlin and now it would live with them forever.

The evening came far too quickly and soon it was time for Natasha to go. Steve helped her get the suit ready and they changed the time and place on her watch. He told her what Morgan looked like now although she would probably recognise her as she had an awfully similar bone structure to Tony and the exact same eyes.
