Finding Natasha

Steve's POV
Steve and Natasha didn't see Morgan the entire day they spent on the ship.
She was locked away in her room and when Steve tried to enter, her AI, M.A.V.I.S, (an updated version) would not let him in. Not that they really minded, the alone time was great.
They arrived back at Pepper's in the middle of the night. Pepper was asleep so they snuck up into the house via Morgan's tunnels. Steve and Natasha tiptoed over the hall to the room Steve had stayed in last time he was here.
Natasha went straight to the shower and while Steve waited for her to get out, he found himself looking out the window at the forest that illuminated the dark leaves with fairy lights. Suddenly he remembered the beautiful treehouse he found and decided he would take Natasha there for their first date the next day.

Steve woke early, just after sunrise. Natasha was gone already so Steve decided to go down and see Pepper. She was out in the garden, watering the flowers with Morgan. She must have decided not to be angry and just happy that Morgan survived her trip to space.
"Hey Pepper." Pepper looked up and headed over the the steps and sat down beside Steve.
"I'm so glad you got back ok. How was your mission, do I get to know what you were up to yet?"
Steve looked over at Morgan who was shaking her head as if to say that Pepper didn't know Natasha was back yet.
"No, sorry Pepper. I'm sworn to secrecy. It's good to be back though."

Natasha's POV
I pulled up to the old farm house that I had spent so many days hidden away at. After failed missions or just to visit the family who always accepted me when I needed them most. I was nervous to see them again, especially since I died 2 years ago.
As I walk towards the house, hidden in the shadows I see that the whole family is outside having a bbq. Laura, Lila and Nathaniel are sitting at the picnic bench that Natasha had helped Laura make many years ago when she was pregnant with Cooper. Clint and Copper were at the BBQ with a young woman that Natasha didn't recognise. She was probably 18 or 19 and had long black hair but she guessed it was the girl Morgan had said Clint was training, Kate Bishop.

As Natasha got closer it was difficult to stay in the shadows. She built up her courage and stepped out of the shadows and continued walking towards the family. She almost turned back, worried they wouldn't want to see her when she locked eyes with Lila. The girls eyes widened, she watched Natasha for a couple of seconds before she ran and hugged her hard, almost knocking her off her feet. At this point everyone's eyes were on them.
When Lila still didn't let go, Natasha whispered, "You're almost as tall as me now baby." Lila leaned back, still not taking her arms from round Natasha waist. "You're back." She laughed. "I
missed you." Natasha wiped one of her tears away. "Yeah, and I'm not going for a long time."

Natasha, now feeling better took Lila's hand in hers and continued over towards the BBQ.
"Hey, sorry to interrupt your picnic." She sat down at the end of the table, Lila next to her. Cooper laughed, stepping away from the BBQ pointing at Lila. "I told you, what did I say. I said 'Natasha will come back, she's not really dead.' and she did."
"I was dead Coop, but not properly dead. You don't want the details but my soul was trapped in a lake on another planet. But I'm back now and better than ever. You're all invited to the Stark's for dinner tonight, you too Bishop. It's really just a reunion because while Steve and I were gone you guys forgot you even knew each other."
No one said anything and just continued to look at her like she was a ghost.
"Ok, look I know I came back to life and it's surprising but please, you're scaring me."
Laura had to get up and push Clint into a chair and take over helping Kate with the BBQ.
"So Steve's alive again too?" Laura said handing Natasha a hot dog. "Is that a coincidence?"
She winked at Natasha who laughed.
"Of course not, it's all thanks to Morgan Stark actually."
Laura looked over at Natasha again, " Really? I'll bet the kids a genius already."
"10x smarter than her old man that's for sure." Natasha laughed lightly.
"She time travelled back to the 50s to convince Steve to help her bring me back. Brought him back here and then got in contact with Thor. And managed to convince his team to take them to Vormir and spent days there trying to get me back. Then she flew us back through space herself. It's crazy."
Clint spoke up now, "How'd he do it? I spent months going over every possible way. Nothing I thought of would have worked."
Natasha came closer towards Clint and Laura and whispered so the kids wouldn't hear, "He jumped."
Laura put a hand over her mouth and Clint sat back against the bench thinking it through. Then laughed uncomfortably, "well.. I didn't think of that."
They were all silent for a bit, Natasha retook her seat next to Lila.
"So, are you two a thing now?" Laura asked giving Lila a burger.
Natasha blushed causing Lila to squeal and Laura chuckled.
"Wow, must be more than a thing if he makes you blush that hard." Natasha stood up pulling Lila up again and giving her another hug before claiming she had to go back as Pepper will be wondering where she got to. She speed-walked back to her motorbike rubbing her cheeks.

Natasha arrived back at the cabin an hour later to find Steve standing holding a red rose, and Natasha chuckled punching his arm but blushing hard again. "What are you doing to me Steve?" She'd been taught to control her emotions, from what she could remember Natasha had never blushed before.
He grabbed her hand and dragged her through the trees to a little opening full of fairy lights and although it was very bright outside as it was noon, the lights were the only thing providing light. The thick trees blocked out any daylight. Natasha squeezed his hand, " Wow, it's beautiful."
"I found it before and promised I would bring you here with me once I got you back. Tony must have made it for Pepper." Steve climbed the ladder and looked down at Nat from the top grinning. "Come on."
