Mila's pov

"There she is, little miss famous" a voice startled Mila from her deep thinking, "didn't think you could fuck off to London and film a video with the Sidemen and not tell me about it, did you?"

"Soph!" Mila shot up, pulling her younger cousin into her arms.

Despite being two years older than Sophie they'd always been close, even though Sophie lived an hour away and they hardly got to see each other, the two were thick as thieves.

"Where you been? Leaving us whilst you're making it big" the short blond girl joked, pushing Mila's shoulder.

"Oh, give over, I was in one video, it's hardly a career" she rolled her eyes, a smile never leaving her face.

"Who cares about the career, you met Harry" Sophie quipped, taking a large sip of her drink, "and at the end of the day that's all that matters"

Mila laughed, throwing her head back. If only Sophie knew how well the two knew each other.

"What's London like? how was Paris? Is Ethan as fit in real life as he is-"Sophie began bombarding her with questions, her mouth going a mile a minute.

"Calm down!" She laughed again, "it's good, it was nice, I'm not answering that"

"Oh come on, we don't see each other in three years and all you tell me is 'it was good" she sat down on the low wall which was to the side of the door, "tell me everything"

Mila paused for a moment, biting her lip. For so long she had kept her and Harry secret, it would be nice to finally be able to spill the beans.

"Well..." she swallowed deeply, deciding to ease her way into it, "I got into a fight with Lucy"

"Did you deck her?" Sophie's eye lit up, she'd never been too fond of Lucy, not since a few years ago when the two had first met. Unlike many people who simply ignored Lucy, Sophie wasn't so lenient, usually threatening physical fights, and occasionally going through with them.

"No-"

"Fuck sake Mel could have at least slapped her or something" Sophie teased, shaking her head with a smirk.

"You done?" Mila replied, cocking her head and leaning back against the door when Sophie nodded she continued, "she was a bitch, so I left"

"She's always been a bitch, what was so different this time?" Sophie wasn't wrong.

"Went on about dad and Jack, and..." she paused, only continuing when Sophie nodded her head expectantly, "...Harry"

"Harry?" Sophie questioned, "As in Harry Wroteshaw?" Mila only nodded, "why would she go on about Harry...unless" she watched Sophie's eyes widen.

The penny finally dropped.

"No!" Sophie gasped, a small smile working its way into her open mouth, " how the fuck did you move to London and get on with Harry fucking Wroteshaw?"

"Keep it down" Mila hushed her, not wanting the full street to know her life.

"Only you could go missing for three years and come back with a famous lad on your arm, Jesus Mel you're some'in else" Sophie shuck her head, a laugh to her voice, "you need to tell me everything"

Mila had missed this, a real friendship. For so long she had only had Lucy, then when she had met Talia it felt like heaven. Until Lucy made it feel like hell, that was. Plus, the past few weeks she'd spent most of her time with Harry, it was fun to gossip like the two did when they were teenagers.

A few hours later they were back inside, drinks in their hands as they watched the chaos erupt around them, sharing small giggles and nudging each other arms. It was barely minutes past midnight, now Christmas day, which meant all the kids could open one present, and create a mess in the process.

It was a tradition, a small present the night before to tide them over until the morning after.

"Mam," Mila caught her arm as she walked past, "Your present" she swallowed deeply, passing over the white paper bag.

"Mel, love, you shouldn't have!" Her mother sat down next to her, Sophie moving over to make some space, "I've barely got you out, had to nip to the town yesterday to scrape somethings together, coming home all out of the blue and that-" Janine stopped her rambling, staring at the glass lily, cradling it in her hands.

"Mel..." she swallowed, looking up to her daughter, "it's-" she stopped herself, teary-eyed.

"Mam, calm down, it's just a lily" Mila joked, trying to keep the situation light, not wanting her mother to cry at a party.

"I'm just so glad you're home, love" Janine pulled her daughter into a hug, squeezing her tight, Mila had to stop herself from laughing at Sophie's confused face, which she was sure matched her own.

"Me too mam"
