   The mercouple swam out of their temporary home and made their way towards their pod's meeting place. It had been quite a while since they'd been living in the Bahamas, and the mercouple assumed that they were getting ready to move again.

   The couple soon reached the meeting cave and were met with the rest of their pod already in there. The two nodded to their fellow pod mates as they passed before settling down at the back of the cave.

   "Hello, everyone!" the pod leader greeted warmly once everyone was quiet. They all greeted her back enthusiastically. "I hope you've all been well and are enjoying our time in the Bahamas.

   "However, everyone, I think it's about time we move again." Gasps erupted around the pod members as they all glanced at each other in shock. Why were they moving again?

   "Where are we moving this time?" a merman in the front asked.

   "And why?" questioned his soulmate.

   "We're going to go back to Hawaii! Mister and missus Huening, you both own a house back in Hawaii, right?" All eyes turned to the couple, who gulped underneath their heavy stares.

   "Y-Yes, we do," the mermaid stuttered.

   "Great! Then we'll stay there while we move back into our previous homes."

   "Th-That sounds fine!" her mate squeaked while clutching his mate's hand tightly.

   "Perfect. Everyone go start packing and we'll leave by sunset, alright?" declared the pod leader. All of the merpeople voiced out their agreement before exiting the cave and back to their homes.

   True to what the pod leader said, the pod was leaving the Bahamas a couple of hours later. According to the pod leader's mate, they were leaving because there were too many tourists in the Bahamas at the time and the temperature was too irregular.

   The mercouple felt like they were forgetting something very important as they continued to swim back to their old home. It was hanging out in the very back of their skulls, but what could it be?

   The couple glanced at each other once they started recognizing landmarks in the water. They were almost there—only around five minutes away, until finally, they at last arrived at the entrance to the cave room. The couple took a deep breath, heavy waves of nostalgia wash past them.

   "You two go ahead; we'll give you both some alone time in your house before we come in, okay?" the pod leader smiled at the couple, who smiled back and nodded.

   "Thank you," the merman said graciously.

   "You're very welcome. Enjoy, okay?" The couple nodded once more and watched as the rest of their pod dispersed before entering the cave entrance.

   "Ah, home sweet home," the mermaid sighed as soon as she and her mate poked out of the water. "It's good to be back."

   "But doesn't it look a little different that when we were last here?" the merman questioned while swimming closer to the edge.

   "Actually, now that you mention it, you're right," she mumbled while hoisting herself out of the pool. "There's more stuff around." Suddenly, her eyes widened as the thing that they had forgotten rushed into her head. With a gasp, she turned towards her mate. "Do you think . . ."

   "Do I think what?" the merman asked while standing to his feet after drying his tail.

   "Do you think Y/N and Kai survived?"

   "Who?"

   "Our children!"

   "Oh. What if they did?"

   "I don't k—"

   "I'll be right back, Tae, I just need to grab something real fast," a feminine voice rang as she opened the door and stepped through. The mercouple's eyes widened.

   The girl that walked into the door froze, her hand still holding on to the door. The couple watched as he soul seemed to leave her body at the sight of the two people inside the room.

   "Mama . . ?"
