part eight; a walk in the park
Yoongi felt embarrassed. No, actually it was more like ashamed. Since breaking his arm, he's barely been able to do anything on his own and that made it very difficult to be an introvert who lived alone. But unlike other hermits, Yoongi had a Jungkook.
Jungkook texted him everyday on the hour and Yoongi was glad that Jungkook was so clingy and attached because he never has to text Jungkook first. He knows if he ever texted Jungkook first it would certainly be over for him.
But it had been a day and Yoongi had just realized how difficult it was to even shower. He gave up when he couldn't even put a bag over his arm to protect the cast that was encasing his arm. He'd never struggled to shower before and the whole situation was frustrating.
So when Jungkook texted him next, Yoongi did the grown up thing and asked him to help. Of course it took Yoongi a good 40 minutes to psyche himself up to even ask. He felt stupid, he felt so small but he also needed to get clean.
But Jungkook didn't see the issue with the task. In fact, he was ecstatic that Yoongi needed his help. He probably ran over from the short time it took for him to arrive.
That's how Yoongi got to where he was. Sitting in a bathtub full of soap while Jungkook washed his hair. He hated it immensely. He felt so exposed and uncomfortable. Not because Jungkook was making him feel uncomfortable, he just felt so...weak.
His knees were pulled to his chest as he shut his eyes when the hot water poured onto his head to wash away the shampoo. God has been testing him a lot lately and Yoongi was tempted to fail him.
Becoming a permanent shut-in was starting to look nice to Yoongi. He could work from home. Online meetings are becoming more popular and it's easy to pay people to buy your groceries and deliver them to you.
The only thing stopping Yoongi from doing all that is that Jungkook would probably never leave and then he'd be stuck inside forever, unable to stop Jungkook from popping by every other hour.
Yoongi shrunk into his shoulders as the hot water ran down his face, he wiped the soap away from his eyes, "Are you almost done?"
"Yes," Jungkook replied, squeezing some conditioner into his hand, "I've never washed another person's hair before, alright?"
"Yeah, I can tell," Yoongi grumbled, shuddering when he felt Jungkook begin to massage the conditioner onto his head.
Jungkook shook his head, chuckling lightly, "It's been a while since we went for a walk together."
"Are you suggesting we go for one?"
"I mean if you want," Jungkook shrugged, scooping up some hot water onto a small jug, "If you don't want to, then no."
Yoongi shut his eyes, letting the water cover his face. He wiped away the soap once more, "We can, it'd be nice to get out."
Jungkook nodded in agreement, announcing he was finished washing his hair. He stood, leaving the bathroom without saying anything else. Yoongi sat in the bathtub, staring at the slowly diminishing bubbles.
He got out not too long after, struggling to put on his pants. He frowned, realizing he wasn't going to be able to get his shirt on without help. He picked up the sweater with his good hand and opened the bathroom door.
He thought Jungkook was going to pass out on the spot when he turned and saw Yoongi shirtless. He'd never seen someone's eyes go as big as his did, his cheeks turning red as he averted his eyes.
He just sat in the bathroom with him, washing his hair while he sat in the bathtub but this was where he thought it was out of hand? Yoongi rolled his eyes, tossing his sweater across the room to Jungkook.
