part eleven; criminal activity
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Taehyung asked.
The overwhelming feeling that he had done something wrong was eating away at his insides to the point where he couldn't even sit still anymore. Jungkook was too antsy, his nerves were shot and he paced around the room.
Jimin and Taehyung didn't know what to do. He's never been like this before and they've been unable to calm him down before. Jungkook kept thinking over and over in his head what he could've done differently.
What did he say and why was it wrong? Jungkook had come to the conclusion it was because he didn't understand Yoongi's entire family history and his lack of knowledge had hurt Yoongi. That's how he started looking into Jung Hoseok.
Jungkook was expecting to dig around a little to find his name but he didn't think it was going to be that easy to find him. Jung Hoseok, the successor to a very large construction company. A very rich one too. It wouldn't be such a big deal if they weren't one of the largest in the country, their names plastered onto nearly every high rise built after the 90s.
He didn't realize Yoongi came from a publically well known family, although he should've figured it out. When Yoongi said that his family cut him out to save their image, he actually meant it.
Jungkook found the main building, where executives and higher ups worked and soon enough the three arrived at the very tall building. Jungkook peered up, trying to see if he could see the top.
"We're not going to get in trouble, right?" Taehyung asked, slapping Jungkook's arm to gain his attention.
He glanced at Taehyung, "What?"
Jimin scoffed, rolling his eyes, "We're just three university students, how much trouble can we get in?"
Taehyung didn't like how that sounded like a challenge and Jimin seemed to accept it. He was completely on board with this entire idea. Walk into the building, demand to see Hoseok and then confront him about everything.
Only Taehyung saw what a bad idea this was. They entered the building, following Jungkook's lead who was navigating through a website that hadn't been updated in months. It detailed Hoseok's office floor and his phone number. He's probably changed both but he needed to find out.
Jungkook watched as the elevator doors opened and revealed what looked like a waiting room. There was a receptionist's desk but no one stood at it. It seemed completely dead.
They carefully pushed forward. Taehyung headed towards the front desk to look around while Jimin and Jungkook just stood like lost puppies in the middle of the room. As the room fell silent they could hear some chatter from down the hall.
They grouped back up, "It shouldn't be this easy to find this Hoseok guy, right? If he is this rich then I feel like there should be more security guards."
"But who is the heir of a construction company going to piss off? I'll be honest, I don't even think about the people behind building buildings."
"That just says more about you than anything," Taehyung murmured.
"I'll just go see who it is," Jungkook said, walking towards the hallway to the right of the courtesy desk.
His two companions followed behind, too afraid to be left alone without their determined fueled friend to defend them. They passed a few bathrooms and an empty meeting room before finally coming to a stop before an even larger meeting room.
On the other side were some office cubes and people working, it seemed to be their lunch because of all the chatter and food they had.
Jungkook peeked around the corner but stumbled into view after Jimin accidentally shoved him. They all gasped and Jungkook froze like a deer in headlights. Past the offices, behind a giant glass wall was Hoseok, sitting in his private office.
