Both of us - Todoroki x reader

chapter two:

"Huh...you weren't joking about that surprise? Were you?" He crossed his arms and eyed me up and down.
But then hawks being himself, started bouncing up and down while flailing his wings with him as his teeth peeked through his enormous smile. I was unbothered by this sudden change in mood since I was accustomed to it.

"Stop jumping. And no, I wasn't. Do you see me as the type to mess around, like a certain person?"

"How do you want me to stop when we finally look like siblings?!" He said, disregarding my rethorical question as he quickly approached me and embraced me in his crushing hug.

"At least not...not inside the...house." words were hard to come out from my mouth as my lungs were robbed out of air. Quickly realizing this, he let me go and I gasped for dear air.

'I guess he will always have that childish mindset...'

"Sorry. Let's go outside" he then suggested with an apologetic smile.

"Yeah, just wait a second, I'll text my mom and Genshiki-San." Taking my phone out of the pocket the short has, I tapped on the texting app, and the few numbers that I had popped up.

To: Genshiki
From: (L/N)-chan

I'll be going with hawks.
If you want, you can take
your leave, as there is no
reason to wait for me.
Delivered.

Not even a minute later, I heard a ring emitting from my phone.

To: (L/N)-chan
From: Genshiki

I will take that in mind.
Thank you for informing me.
Seen.

Next, is my mother's contact.

To: Mother
From: (Y/N)

If anything were to happen,
I will be with hawks.
Delivered.

The message was short yet formal, like every other interaction I had with her by phone- or sometimes in person. I was already used to this treatment; where almost every message I write is just delivered, so you can't find many texts I wrote being seen, many of them -if not most- were just delivered. The last seen message I  wrote was the one just above the last one that she wrote: 'I'll be absent for a week, I have work abroad. If you need anything just contact the staff.'

By staff she means the chef who comes just to cook lunch and dinner then leaves, Genshiki-san who is the chauffeur, and a few maids whom I rarely see.

"Are you done yet?" Hawks asked from outside the house while looking behind his shoulders at me.

"Yeah." I quickly hid my phone, took my keys and headed outside with him. I didn't have to worry about locking the door, it would automatically close all the doors and windows once the last person in the house leaves, and open the ones opened once when the first person enters the house again.

It was quiet while walking since people were either at home or at work, the only sounds that could be heard were  the bird's chirping, my neighbor's dog, and of course mine and hawks's conversation. It didn't take long for us to get out of the residential and quiet area in musutafu where many rich families live, and dive into the busy streets.
