"Dream,
When you're feelin' blue."
"Who might you be?"
He was tall and he was gorgeously handsome, though it was not proper to say such a thing out loud. You had been told that he was the fleet admiral's "son", in a way, someone who you were lucky to be given the opportunity to work under.
"Lieutenant (L/n) (y/n), sir."
You were stood pin straight, in no way wanting this man to think you were a slacker. Hand to your forehead in a salute, your white coat hung over your shoulders proudly. You didn't crane your neck to look up at him, fearing that you would look out of place.
After a few seconds you had assumed he would move onto the marine next to you for introductions, but instead you furrowed your brows out of confusion; daring to meet his eye.
"Nice to meet you, Lieutenant."
Your eyes widened for a second and you felt like something had caught your heart in a bind, like someone had squeezed it in their hand. Like someone had taken your breath right out of your lungs.
However, you had to quickly recover, pushing everything down and bowing politely.
"Likewise, sir."
When he walked away, you couldn't help but let your eyes follow him. That blonde hair and that bright smile, you hadn't quite seen anything quite like it. It even caused your lips to curl up a little at the corners.
"Dream,
That's the thing to do."
"Sengoku, sir. I really appreciate this offer, but I don't think I will be quite the right person."
He sat there in silence, looking between you and a document in from of him. The paper listed all that you had done, all that you had sacrificed for your job. Although, given your answer, he knew you were being modest. He knew your potential and your skill, the evidence sat right before him in both person and file.
"I think that it would be a waste not to have you move up in rank, (l/n)."
"With all due respect, sir, I-"
"I think that having (L/n) here move up is an excellent idea."
Your heart clenched once again, spinning on your heels towards the door as Sengoku's stare fell onto the man who had just stepped into his office. You didn't mean to gaze at your superior like you did, but you could help it.
That smile, that damn smile which pulled you into a dream-like state you couldn't even begin to snap out of. That hair which was golden and those eyes, the ones of a reddish-brown mahogany...
"Ah, Rosinanté."
At the call of his name, the Commander managed to tear his eyes from yours and look towards his farther figure. You were embarrassed beyond anything, glancing everywhere except the stunning man with that messy hair which looked so soft you wanted to run your hands through it.
