"Grandmaster!" Loki shouted as he ran to catch up with the man.

"Did you enjoy the show?" The Grandmaster smiled.

"I must see your beast." Loki replied quickly.

"You want to see the monster up close?" The Grandmaster questioned as Loki nodded, trying his best not to hurt the Grandmaster for calling you a monster.

"I will have one of my guards escort you." He agreed.

Loki was bouncing with anxiety, he had waited so long to get you back and here he was, minutes away from seeing you. His heart refused to stop pounding out of his chest as he followed the guard down the halls. The guard suddenly stopped in front of a door that had many locks.

"Through there." The guard pointed at the door before leaving Loki to face "the beast" alone.

Loki took a deep breath to calm his racing heart before he undid the locks and stepped inside the room. The first thing he noticed, was the lack of sun, the lack of any light really. It wasn't a particularly small room, but it wasn't all that big either. It was almost pitch black in the room and that didn't settle well with Loki. He closed the door behind him and used his magic to create a ball of light that floated above him.

Loki's eyes softened and his heart skipped a beat when his gaze settled on a cage at the back of the room. The ceiling and the floor of the cage were metal, the sides made up of metal bars. He slowly and quietly walked up to the cage, lowering himself to his knees so he could peer into it.

"Y/n, darling?" Loki asked softly.

You were no longer a lion, you had shifted into a leopard. You were laying on the dirty floor of the cage, your back to Loki. You hadn't moved an inch when Loki had walked in or called your name.

"Y/n," Loki tried again, worry slipping into his voice, "...It's me, Loki."

This did get your attention however. You slowly sat up and got to your paws, standing in the middle of the cage, your tail swishing from side to side. When Loki tried to get closer to the cage, you hissed and backed away from the bars. Loki's heart broke even more, he had no idea what happened to you in this awful place, he didn't even know if you were still you. The thought that you had lost your memories crossed his mind and he prayed that wasn't the case.

"Y/n darling, it's me, do you not remember?" Loki spoke softly and calmly so he wouldn't scare or anger you.

Your sharp eyes stared into Loki's soft ones and after a few seconds, you took a tentative step forwards. Loki was patient, not wanting to move at all for fear that he would stop your advances. Loki sat back on his knees as you finally reached the bars of the cage. You bared your teeth for a second before you dropped your defensive stance. You made a sound that sounded suspiciously like a meow, coming closer to Loki and trying to reach him through the bars.

"There you are, that's the y/n I know." Loki smiled softly as you purred and still tried to reach him with your paw.

"I'll get you out of here and bring you back home, I promise." Loki whispered to you as your tail swished. "Darling, can you shift back into yourself?"

Your ears perked up and your tail swished again. Loki's brows furrowed in confusion, he had no idea what you were trying to say, if you even understood him at all.

"Can you understand me sweetheart?" Loki asked, not expecting an answer.

Your ears kept twitching and your paws kept hitting the bars of the cage, trying to break free. Loki sighed softly before he used his magic to make the cage open. Your sharp eyes narrowed, your ears flattened against your head, and your teeth bared. Loki guessed you hadn't been around magic for awhile if this was how you reacted. After a minute, you took a slow, tentative step towards the open door of the cage.

"It's okay, I'm not here to hurt." Loki tried a different approach, trying to assure the animal in front of him instead of the person... he wasn't even sure if there was still a person in the animal.

Your front paw connected with the cool floor of the room and it wasn't long before your other paw joined it. You purred in approval at the change of captivity, thinking that the man in front of you was letting you wander about the room instead of the cage.

Loki noticed your change of attitude and realization crossed his concerned features; you don't remember who you are.

Which means... you had absolutely no idea who he was either.
