"Hey Sky, it's so nice to see you again. You look gorgeous in that colour!" Daisy smiled, walking around the table to hug me quickly before taking her seat.
"Thank you, it's good to see you too." I replied genuinely.
"Lucas has just gone to the bathroom but I'm sure he'll be back any minute." she said.
"Daisy, how did you find the ceremony?" Hailey asked.
"It was beautiful! Your sister did an amazing job at planning all of this."
"Don't let my mom hear you say that." she laughed. "She's the events planner of this family."
"Oh, well she did a great job."
"Look what the cat dragged in." Ryan said, walking up behind Hailey and messing with her hair as he held hands with his date and led her to their seats.
"Ryan! Do not touch my hair again or I swear to god-" Hailey threatened.
"See, she's so mean to me." he said, smirking to the rest of us to aggravate Hailey even more.
"I can get you kicked out, you know." Hailey said.
"She'd never." He said to his date as they sat down. "Girls, this is Mandy, my date. Mandy, this is Hailey, Sky and...I'm so sorry I've forgotten your name."
Hailey and I rolled our eyes at his rudeness as the three of us answered for her. "Daisy."
"Right, I'm sorry, I'm really bad at names and I thought my brother was lying when he said he'd got a date." Ryan said.
"Haha very funny." I heard Lucas say from behind me with his deep, recognisable voice as he took his seat between Daisy and I. "I'm Lucas." he said, nodding towards Ryan's date.
As he sat down, he looked towards me and we made eye contact before he scanned my body and his mouth opened ever so slightly in captivation.
"I know. I'm Mandy. We've met at parties before." she smiled joyfully, bringing me back to reality and causing my head to turn back to the table as Lucas did the same.
"Oh, I apologise. I don't often recognise people from those things." Lucas said.
"Don't worry, I get really drunk too." she replied genuinely.
"No I...never mind." he said, shaking his head before looking to me in amusement.
As he looked at me, I avoided making eye contact for a second time. I just wanted to get through this meal with as little drama as possible.

The conversation flowed as our meals were brought to us and Daisy practically choked when she found out that they were made by a Michelin star chef. I don't think she realised how wealthy our family is, not that we like to talk about it.
In fact, I find it quite embarrassing sometimes and worry that we must come across as spoilt brats. I don't want to be perceived in that way.
Mandy told us about her aspirations in the future, which included becoming head cheerleader and getting a dog like the one in legally blonde. That was about it for conversation, until she asked if we could see Michelin stars in the sky and then proceeded to look out of the window until we explained what they actually are.
That was certainly an interesting conversation, and I found myself wanting to look over at Lucas beside me to share my amusement, but I stopped myself.
I think he was beginning to catch on that I was acting strange, but I just couldn't act normally after realising that I have such strong feelings for him.
