"You're right. That's your thing." I said, receiving an eye roll and threat to punch me in the arm. "But I'm not leading her on, I do like her."

"Well you should probably tell your eyes that, because they haven't left Sky since she walked into the room. Heck, since you met her." he scoffed.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" I mumbled, knowing he was right but internally cursing him for noticing.

"Don't play that card with me. I'm not stupid. I know that you're in love with her. Frankly, I've known longer than you have." he laughed.

"What?"

"Lucas, when we're at school there are girls all over you. Same at parties. That's every guys dream, but you're just not interested. Honestly, at first I thought you were gay." he stated, making my head snap up at him, narrowing my eyes.

"Hey, I don't discriminate!" he said holding his hands up defensively. "In my mind that just meant more girls for me, but then I realised that I was wrong and it's actually just because you love Sky. And I mean, I love Sky too, but not in the way that you do."

"Carter would kill me if he knew." I said, losing the energy to deny it as I looked Ryan in the eyes.

"No he wouldn't. You're one of his best friends, you're probably one of the only people that he'd actually trust to date his sister."

"Like she'd even want to date me." I scoffed.

"You're kidding, right?" he asked as I shook my head in confusion. "I knew I was the smarter, better-looking twin but damn, are you blind too?"

"What are you talking about?" I asked, remembering why I never talk to Ryan about these things.

"You know what? I'm just going to leave you to figure it out." he laughed, standing from his seat. "Mandy is waiting for me on the dance floor."

"Ryan, don't be a-" I started.

"Oh and don't forget to talk to Daisy." he said, pointing his finger at me as he walked away, ignoring what I'd said.

I sighed at my brother's annoying nature for not explaining himself, but also wasn't surprised.

I knew I never should've brought Daisy with me. I knew that, and I knew that I'd seem like a terrible person but I had to tell her how I was feeling.

I couldn't lead her on anymore.

I slowly got up from my seat and scanned the room until I spotted her stood beside Leanne. I walked over to them, taking a deep breath as I went.

I could practically hear my heart thudding in my chest from nerves and I wasn't sure how I was going to explain myself to Daisy. She deserved better than this and I felt like a dick for doing this to her, despite the fact we aren't technically together.

"Daisy, can we talk?" I asked as she looked up from her conversation with Leanne and gave me a nod.

"Of course, what's up?" she smiled as I led her to the side of the room for a little more privacy.

"Look, I need to tell you something, and I'm not sure how to say it-" I began nervously.

"Lucas, let me save you the trouble." she said, placing her hand gently on my arm, a smile still on her face. "I know that you're in love with Sky."

She caught me completely by surprise when those words escaped her mouth.

"I-In love? What do you- How did you-" I stammered.

"It's been obvious ever since I saw you two in the hallway together. You can tell just by the way that you look at her."

Was it seriously that obvious? How did both she and Ryan know so certainly? I understand how Ryan could tell, he's my twin and as he said himself, he knows me better than anybody. But Daisy? I don't even know her that well and she can already see right through me. Am I seriously that bad at hiding my feelings?

"I'm so sorry Daisy." was all I could bring myself to say.

"Don't be silly! You have nothing to apologise for, I get it." she shrugged. "And I'm not going to stand in the way when clearly we just aren't meant to be."

"Seriously? Thank you so much." I said, leaning over to give her a hug.

"Of course. I mean, we've had a nice time today so...friends?" she said.

"Definitely."

"Good, now can you just do me one favour?" she asked.

"Of course, anything."

"Go and tell Sky how you feel." She smiled.

I nodded as a smile spread across my face and I went to go and find Sky, leaving Daisy to go back to her conversation with Leanne.

I was so grateful at Daisy's reaction and knew that she and Ryan were both right.

I needed to tell Sky how I feel.
