The Howling Commandos (Bucky x Fem! Reader)

A/n: This chapter may be short since this is the montage scene. I'll try to put as much dialogue as I can. It's probably gonna be confusing with all the time skips though. IDK really.

3rd person P.O.V:

It was a typical, normal day at the Hydra factory in France. All the guards and workers were minding their own business. That is until a group of soldiers broke through the doors. Captain America, wearing a red, white, and blue uniform, fired his tommy gun. His group, consisting of Jacques Dernier, James Montgomery Falsworth, Jim Morita, Gabe Jones, Bucky Barnes, Y/n L/n, and Dum Dum Dugan, followed behind him, shooting at the enemy. Y/n and Bucky borrowed the shield. She jumped on it and Bucky gave her a boost, sending her into the air where she shot at every Hydra soldier coming from behind. Bucky caught her as she landed back down on the ground.

"Thank you Sarge," she said.

Once everything was taken care of, the group headed back to the headquarters. At headquarters, Peggy placed an X with a SSR flag on the map where the Hydra factory used to be. Y/n pointed where the next location would be, Bucky patting her on the back.

In Belgium, Steve and his fellow Howling Commandos, as they were nicknamed, ran around the battleground. They left a trail of havoc all around. Y/n had Bucky lift her up so she could spray paint the SSR logo with the early invention of Ed Seymour. The Red Skull drove up in his car after the battle. In anger, he roared at the sight of the ruined factory.

In Poland, Steve and Y/n were knocking out some Hydra agents. Steve didn't notice the agent behind him, but Y/n did. She didn't have time to warn Steve but luckily, Bucky shot the agent from far away. Y/n and Steve gave him a thumbs up. From behind the gun, Bucky smiled.

Once the troops got back to HQ, Peggy placed a SSR flag on the map where Poland is.

Czechoslovakia was the next place with a Hydra factory. The Howling Commandos ran out the side doors of a Hydra factory. They dove for cover and waited. No explosion. They peered out from their cover. Steve had not come out yet, but then his motorcycle busted through the window soon followed by an explosion. The entire team cheered with joy as the factory went up in flames.

It was morning in the frozen forest. It seemed empty, but seven figures came up from the ground. The Commandos shook off the snow. An eighth figure, Steve in his red, white and blue costume, rose up from the snow. Bullets flinged off Steve's shield. Steve threw his shield at the hydra sniper in the trees, taking him out. The Howling Commandos looked at Steve in surprise. They took down all the Hydra agents and destroyed the factory. As usual, Peggy placed a flag where the now destroyed Hydra factory.

At another factory, Captain America and Jones sat in the back of a jeep that Dugan drove. Y/n and Bucky were running next to the jeep. A Hydra plane swooped in and began shooting at the Commandos. Steve used his shield to block the bullets. Jones readied his .30 cal and shot down the plane. It crashed not too far from the jeep.Dugan stopped the jeep. Everyone stared impressed.

In another forest, Dernier ran through it, carrying a bomb that was tucked underneath his arm. Across from him was a Hydra car, driving fast. He rolled under it and placed the bomb. He got out from underneath the car in time before it blew up.

The Howling Commandos raced across the battlefield as the Hydra tank raced after them. They all almost made it to safety, but Dugan's hat flew off his head and he rushed back to get it.

"Stop!" All the men yelled.

"DUGAN!!! GET BACK HERE!!!" Y/n yelled. Dugan put back on his bowler and then finally noticed the tank was coming right at him. Like a miracle as always, Steve dove over Dugan and on to the tank. He grabbed the tank's cannon barrel and then flipped into the air onto the turret. He began to hit the power housing with his shield. With every hit, sparks flew everywhere until power housing and the tank blew up.

Back at HQ, Peggy and Colonel Phillips watched the footage of the Commandos' success. Falsworth and Dernier were drinking from their canteens. Dugan drinks from a flask. Bucky, Y/n, and Steve survey a valley. She notices the compass Steve is holding, has her picture in it. She was shocked to find that. Phillips looked at her. Peggy was smiling.

"Bucky?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

"I love you too, doll."
