While anxiously waiting for Nick's message to tell me the meeting place, I smoked one cigarette after another. I had almost gone through an entire pack. My nervousness always brings me to the edge of madness and I hated to wait.

Smoking helped me to calm down a bit.

Last night Nick wrote me a late message saying I should go alone to the meeting place in the evening without any company. I told the other girls that it was my idea to go alone and after a lot of back and forth they agreed even if they didn't like this idea.

I don't want to drag them into every shit with me and otherwise they will worry again and certainly not without reason, because I also find it quite strange that he wants me to come alone. Why can't Claire or one of the others come with me?

I would have bet on the fact that I get the message that in any case Claire should come along, since he apparently likes her. Well, at least his strange way of liking someone...

There is something very suspicious about the whole thing, but I had no other choice now. Nick has the USBs and I need them urgently again, so I'm practically forced to show up there today. Who knows what else he'll do with the USBs?

I wonder if he looked at the data. What if he secretly stored or already sold it? I trust him with everything, even if he is tied to the CIA by this deal of Evans. So if he wants to rip me off, I know where to find this little rat.

He is wearing a tracking device, even though he is now an informant of ours he is still a criminal who can't just walk around free. So if something goes wrong today, I'll find him and bring him down. I'll get those USBs somehow, he can be sure of that. So I advise him not to underestimate me.

The sound of my own cell phone snapped me out of my thoughts and I reached for the black device lying on the small wooden table in front of me. An anonymous number had sent me a message with an address.
"Hurry up." was sent after it only a few seconds later. He should chill really his nipples, I'm coming after all.

I got up from my couch, grabbed my keys and all the important stuff like my gun and knife which I put in my shoe and headed for the door. My legs carried me as if by themselves and I hurried without really realizing it. It's like my body knows that it's important that I get there on time.

As I started my car, I was again overcome by all these thoughts that warned me not to go there. I pushed them aside, because I had no other choice. I need the USBs.
"It's going to be okay." I spoke encouragement to myself as I pulled out and hit the road shortly after.

I don't know why I did that, because I had never done that before. I had been nervous about a mission or an assignment many times, of course, but this exchange that was about to take place really topped everything. I was a bundle of nerves and every single muscle in my body was clearly tense.
