"I hate you." I repeated as I continued to walk toward her, causing her to touch the closed refrigerator with her back as she backed away. "I hate you so much that sometimes...
I don't think I can relax until I hold the USBs in my own hand. The girls are at the base waiting for me to join them so we can figure out how to proceed. Today is also our last chance to use the USBs before Robin comes back from his business trip and notices their disappearance.
If something goes wrong now we are really fucked. And by we, I actually mean me, because the others aren't in this as deep as I am. Except of course when dear Nick resells the data of our USB, because then they also feel the consequences of this act. But if Robin notices first that the USBs are gone, only Harry and I are screwed.
I followed my GPS which led me to the outskirts of the city and from afar I saw the big warehouse appearing. What is it with everyone and their abandoned warehouses? Can't we meet somewhere normal?
I looked at the building through the windshield and parked my car in the back. The entrance seems to be on the other side. Two big green gates were on the side where I was now standing with my car, but it didn't look like I could get in from there.
When I got out, I felt the cold of the evening and the dawning sun was already barely visible on the horizon. I wore black jeans and a black top because I saw no reason to get elaborately ready for Nick and I liked my outfit. It is plain and simple. Maybe I should have bring a jacket with me.
I now walked around the big building to find an entrance. Hopefully it wouldn't collapse while I was inside. Wouldn't be such a nice way to die. As I walked I wondered if Nick was already there waiting. Well, I guess I'll find out in a minute, because I discovered a door whose doorbell I was now pulling.
The old door creaked when I opened it, but to my surprise it was easier to open than I thought. When I entered, I scanned my surroundings and it looked like I was alone in the large hall. The sound of my footsteps echoed off the walls as I went deeper inside.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" I then called out, now making sure I was really alone or if anyone was there. "Ashley Scott." Nick's familiar voice called out and I saw him come out from behind an SUV that I hadn't noticed at first because it wasn't centered in the room so I couldn't have seen it at first glance. He had that slimy grin on his lips again and his hood pulled deep into his face. I don't even know if he has long or short hair because he never shows it.
"Thanks for coming." he said with a smug smile and a hand gesture that signaled I should come closer. I did as he asked and came towards him until we met in the middle of the room. "Have you been able to decrypt the USBs?" I then asked, getting right down to business.
"Of course, it was pretty easy after Kitty then brought me over the necessary tools." he replied proudly and with a nostalgic look. "It's a shame she didn't stay longer." he then added. "If you hadn't told me to come alone, Claire would have come with me." I announced, watching his reaction carefully.
The corners of his mouth quirked upward as if of their own accord at the mention of her name and his gaze went into the distance. I waved my hand in front of his face and snapped my fingers. "Why should I come alone?" I then asked, curious at his explanation.
