The cold dark night seemed to take over the city of New York as I walked on the block that was close to my apartment building. Shivering and blowing out air, every passing moment I was getting colder. I tried distracting myself by swinging the bag that I had in my hand back and forth. Hoping that the wind would calm down but it kept blowing and going. Making me regret walking to the corner store. Even though I was born in Brooklyn, I still never got used to the cold weather. Especially at the beginning of March. Isn't it supposed to be springtime? Why is it still cold? I questioned myself as I walked across the street into the black tall building. My face formed a smile because of the warm temperature I felt once stepping into the lobby. Waving at the two people who were at the front desk, they recognized me and waved back.
"Pretty cold isn't it?" One of the ladies said as she was typing away on the keyboard.
I exhaled before looking at them. "Yep, it's so annoying," They both laughed.
"Have a goodnight, ladies." Faintly I heard them say you too before I went inside of the opened elevator.
Making it to my room door, I unlocked the door with my keys and walk inside my warm cozy home. I took my boots off at the front door before walking straight into my bedroom to take my black coat and gloves off. Leaving me in my grey jacket and blue jeans. Hearing my phone dinged, I ran to my jacket because I left it in my pocket and checked the screen to see only notifications from Instagram.
Sadly, I was hoping to get a call or text back from my fiancé but I haven't gotten anything since I went to work this morning. My fiancé and I have been together for two years and he's never been late to a reply. He always checks up on me after work so I wondered what happened today that changed that.
Lazily getting up from the position that I was in on my bed, I decided to at least drink or eat something to take my overthinking thoughts away. I walked out of my bedroom leaving the door open so the light can come into the kitchen. Even though I was in my feelings about Hyungwon, I couldn't help but remember his amazing personality and how good he's been to me. Despite him being in the mafia, it still didn't change the fact that he's a human who can have someone special by his side. Then I started to think about how crazy life is for me to be with someone who is a mafia leader and how looks can be deceiving. Because when I met Hyungwon, I knew who he was and if I just based off his personality on his looks then we wouldn't have been together. His face and body language is pretty scary. On top of that, he's tall so he already has this intimidating aura to him.
Even behind those cold features and death stares. He was still a sweet guy.
