And Yet So Different

Y/n POV

The moment I saw the list everything was set! Gymnastics was done by 11am and tennis started by 2pm. I had enough time to eat and shower between these two activities!

"So you are really going for both, huh?", Maggie asked me as she wrote her name and birthday in the next free spot for tennis. "Of course  I will! I could never decide for one if I have the chance to do both!" She let out a cute chuckle as we were walking to the entrance to leave. We unfortunately did not have to take the same bus home. Maggie had to drive a complete different direction and way longer that I have to. We hugged each other and got to our bus.

I saw no familiar faces on the bus so I just sat in a free seat and plugged my headphones in. I opened my phone to see a message from my supervisor: Hi Y/n, I just wanted to inform you that I am not here today so if you have anything you need help with you can go to Kara or Mr Thompson! I will be back by tomorrow afternoon! Great, so today I could not ask him about the competition. Not that I think he would say no because I mean it's in the holidays which means we wouldn't have to do anything except from helping around the house a little bit either.

About ten minutes later the bus stopped and I went out. I had to walk the rest, not much, just around half a mile. I continued listening to music when I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I turned around to meet Leo. We hang out together a lot. Mostly because we both enjoy sitting in the garden at midnight, against the rules of cause, for no special reason. It's very calm there at night but you are screwed if you get caught.

"Hi, Leo! How are you? You also coming from school?", I asked trying not to look too surprised by his attempt to speak with me. Not that I didn't like him or that I thought he woudn't like me, I just wasn't focused on my surroundings.

"Yes but I decided to walk home from school so I am way much later than I am usually! And by the way we have to do this garden thing again! That was so cool out there except from when Miss Baker goes her labs around the campus." We both giggled at the memory of playing hide and seek with the principal, Miss Baker, without her knowledge of course! "Yes we definitely have to do that again but now shut up, we cannot talk here about it! And I have to go to my room and take a shower! See you later Leo.", I lowly waved at him when we entered the front door.

It is a huge building, kind of like a little castle when you step inside. The offices were right at the left and the. Dining hall was on the right. When you went straight, you had the community room. They call it like that because it is like a big living room with a TV, couches, a projector for movie nights, multiple tables, an in-door kicker, Billiard and a small corner to read or just to chill if u wanted to. On both sides of the big hall were huge staircases which were leading to the bedrooms and the bathrooms.

I was walking to the office and Leo went to the community room. I wanted to check if Mark was really not there, even though I knew the answer. I walked to Kara's office and knocked gently on the open door: "Hei Kara, I am sorry to disturb you but have you seen Mark today? I have to ask him something." she looked up at me and smiled kindly. "I have seen him this morning but he had to get some work done outside the town and he will not be here until tomorrow evening. Didn't he wrote you?", she asked and I felt a little nervous right there and then.

"Ehm, I- I do not know I didn't check my phone yet", I lied, obviously. "Well can I help you with something? Mr Thonpson and I are taking his kids today and tomorrow so if you have something you would discus with him you can also come to one of us. But if it's not urgent you can also wait if you are not comfortable with telling one of us", her kindness is killing me!

"No, no, it is not something bad or something its just that I signed up for a sports competition on Saturday and I wanted to ask him if I can take part but I can also wait for tomorrow.", I said that  as if it was no big deal at all but I was so excited and nervous I think she noticed it!

"Are you sure? You are right, I cannot help you with that but I can write him and ask him if you want but idon't see any reason you couldn't go." She was right. There was no reason I couldn't go but I was still nervous Mark would say no.

"Nonono whatever he has to do is enough. I mean there is a reason he is not here today and I do not want to question os annoy him with what can wait for tomorrow! But thank you Kara for your time!", I turned around and walked to my room.

I closed the door and connected my phone with my little speakers and put on some music, time passed by pretty fast as I laid on my bed with my nose in a book until I noticed: it was 6:13pm! I was late for dinner! I jumped out of the bed throwing the book on it, grabbing a hoodie and ran down to the dining hall nearly crashing in Ms Baker. I tried to turn my body to not crash into her but I slipped and fell to the ground. "Y/N! Are you okay?" Miss Baker was strict, but kind and very caring.

"Yes, yes I'm ok.", I quickly got up and checked my wrist. It hurt a little as I was accidentally bumping on a table. Well my wrist hurts a little but it's not so bad.", said as I looked on it. "Show me Y/n!" Miss Baker took my wrist to check if I was bleeding or if there were any wisible signs of any kind of injury. She carefully let go of it again and I put it in my hoodie.

"If the pain is not better by tomorrow morning or if there is a swelling or just anything unusual you go straight to medical room! Okay?", she said that with her usual strict but not arrogant voice and I nodded and got to a table next to Leo. He eyed me carefully. "I am okay Leo, don't worry its nothing!", I said with confidence. He looked at me as if he didn't believe me.

"What if it is not ok? Didn't you wanted to take part on that sport competition?" That hit me like a truck. I totally forgot that! But how did I forget it?! I was so hyped but now my wrist hurts and I need it for tennis and gymnastics and worse than not being able to do both is not being able to do anything. That thought made me sad, and Leo noticed and laid his hand on my hand on the table. I flinched at the sudden contact and I do not like someone touching my hands in general.

"I am sorry, Y/n. I didn't want to make you sad forget what I said I am sure it will be fine!", he tried to calm me down and I just looked at the plate of soup in front of me, smiled and nodded lightly.

After dinner I went straight back to my room. I sat on my bed and wrote a text message to Maggie telling her what happened. But before she could respond I was falling asleep.

And the second chapter done! Still nothing with marvel, I know but the next chapter will be more... exciting! Lemme know what yall think ->
