Operation Second Chance

Luka had come up with another plan centered around himself. After Alix made the time jump and brought them there, he set out to find the akumatized version of himself for a second time. Just like before, Truth was in Marinette's room by the time he got there.

"Ladybug, who are you?" Truth shouted.

"Afraid to admit you're in love with?" Luka added, entering the room. In the midst of the chaos, no one questioned why there were two Lukas. Everything was unfolding the same as before, but Luka suspected the simple rephrase might shake things up.

"Chat Noir," Ladybug involuntarily replied, looking a little surprised by her own answer.

Chat Noir gaped at her, this was definitely not how he had pictured her finally confessing her love to him. Still, he'd take what he could get.

Even Truth had been shocked at her confession, and in his moment of hesitation, Ladybug and Chat Noir defeated him and Pharro.

"You're in love with me?" Chat Noir asked before she could throw her miraculous ladybug.

"Yes," she answered against her will, before throwing her miraculous ladybug so that everything was fixed.

"Wow, I'm gonna be honest m'lady, I've always hoped you would someday, but I had no idea you felt that way," he stated.

"Neither did I," she replied.

"So, what does this mean for us?" Chat asked hopefully.

"I'm sorry kitty, but it doesn't mean anything. We can always trust each other, but I still can't tell you the whole truth, anything about my life. Besides, what kind of partners would we be if we were dating. You already sacrifice yourself so much for me, imagine if I was actually your girlfriend. You'd be even more reckless. I couldn't live with myself if anything ever happened to you because of me," she rambled.

"M'lady, with all due respect, I don't think I could get any more reckless. I don't think I could want to protect you any more even if I tried. I love you so much already, I don't think I could love you any more," he replied.

"It would be dangerous for us to date, Hawkmoth, er, Shadowmoth, would be able to use us to get to each other, he would exploit our weaknesses," she explained.

"That's just it. You're already my weakness, we're already there Bugaboo," he stated.

"But-" Ladybug started. She looked at the pictures of Adrien on her bedroom wall. "Look Chat, I might have feelings for you, but I'm still not over the other boy either."

"So that's what this is about? I get it, Ladybug. But just so you know, you're the love of my life, even if I'm not the love of yours," Chat Noir said as he exited Marinette's bedroom, leaving Ladybug alone with her thoughts.

"Second Chance," the Luka not of this timeline called sadly.
