I had been ready for an hour. A comfy pink sweatshirt and grey sweatpants. My favorite outfit. My hair was straight. My makeup was natural and made for a perfect subtle glow. I had my "Love Spell" Victoria's Secret perfume and lotion on. I thought it was fitting. Tonight was the night I hung out with my crush. At my house. Watching a horror movie, my favorite genre. I had planned on making a move. Maybe making my shoulder touch his. Little did I know he had something else in store for me.
7:00 PM
My heart was pounding as my crush arrived. My friend had been here for a mere 15 minutes before to prepare me. She would be my wing-man and photographer. The ding of the doorbell made my heart fall through the floor. I was scared out of my brain. I opened the door to see him standing there. Grey sweatpants and a blue Vineyard Vines shirt. He hugged me a quick hello as we ran up to the bonus room. We decided to play the game of LIFE which didn't last long, we were too distracted by each others company. We laughed the night away.
8:00 PM
It was time to put on the movie. My friend had taken the chair next to the couch. She left me and my crush on the couch together. I mouthed her a thanks before sitting down. I had a chocolate covered strawberry in my mouth as he set down the fluffy black and white colored blanket on top of me playfully. The movie was about to begin. Insidious. I picked it because it was supposed to have a lot of jump scares. I was so excited. My friend hated horror movies. She buried herself under a blanket before it had even started.
The movie was on. My crush moved close to me, his hand gently placed in my lap. His thigh was touching mine. His shoulder brushed mine. I felt my stomach fill with butterflies. I couldn't pay attention to the movie. I was too focused on the fact that he made the first move... I didn't have to do anything. My throat tightened as I fixed my gaze on the screen, trying not to let him see how flustered I was.
We had only been maybe 15 minutes into the movie when I heard my crush say "I can't watch movies sitting up. I have to lay down. Watch out." He moved his legs across my lap. I had thought that our moment was over. I was satisfied. But he reached his arm out for my right shoulder (he was on my left) and pulled me down next to him. His body was so warm and his touch was so delicate. I nervously laid myself on top of his shoulder. He put his arm around my head in an awkward position. He started to play with my hair. Butterflies were rising out of my stomach. I thought I was going to throw up from the excitement. His bicep was choking me but I couldn't bring myself to say anything. I reached for my earring to take them out since they were poking into my head. He took them out for me, being cautious and ever so gentle. I could feel my face growing red.
I rested my hand on his chest and my head against it too. He had his arm around me and was rubbing my shoulder. He had whispered to me "Do you have a bigger blanket?" I nodded and brought my friend out to the hall with me to grab one. My face and hers lit up. I was so excited. We grabbed a blanket and rushed back in.
I was afraid he didn't want me to cuddle him any longer. So I had stayed sitting upright. I could see him looking at me, curiously. After maybe 5 minutes, I was imitating the person in the movie. Pointing and trembling exactly like they did. Next thing I know I was back under his arm. He had grabbed my wrist and pulled me back onto him. The reassurance that it was okay was comforting.
He held my hand. His hands were rough yet they felt so soft. I couldn't imagine ever letting go. I felt like I had succeeded in life. My crush and I were cuddling and he held my hand.
After a while, he had gone to the bathroom. I eagerly texted my friend. OMG WE ARE CUDDLING. It was the best moment of my life. He came back into the room. I quickly typed the rest of my sentence. But I wasn't fast enough. He had saw my phone. I rushed it into my pocket, hoping he didn't catch a glimpse of our conversation. I laid back on his chest and tried to focus on the movie. His breathing was ragged. He had asthma and you could hear it. I found it comforting in a way. Everything about the night was perfect.
A jump scare came and he grabbed me tightly. I had never been so glad to have someone who was scared, watch a horror movie with me. His embrace was ever so comforting.
My Apple Watch had buzzed and he checked it for me. It was a Snapchat of course. But what I had forgotten was that my wallpaper was a picture of the two of us. He had seen it too. But he just smiled at me and continued cuddling me.
10:30 PM
The movie was over, and so was the night. It was time for my friends to go home. My mind was tired from running in circles. I had wondered if that meant we were going to date. I quickly cleared my thoughts as I walked him out of the door. My best friend had just walked to her car as me and my crush walked out together. He hugged me under the moonlight, his hands gently rested upon my waist. He hugged me ever so tightly. He whispered into my ear "Goodnight." I waved goodbye to him and his mother, who I was quite fond of, hoping to have another amazing night like that again soon.
