It's Kind Of A Funny Story (ranboo x reader)

Y/n POV

I'm sitting on the couch, doing absolutely nothing. Who knew not having school made life boring. I can't bother Ranboo because he's streaming.

I go to the fridge and see were almost out of food. I text Ranboo letting him know i'm leaving and grab the car keys and grocery list and walk out to the car.

The neighborhood we live in is a really nice one. There's such sweet families here and even people Ranboo and my age. There is a really nice elementary school nearby too, wait what am I thinking, i'm only 19. I turn the car on and look for kids runing around while backing out. I successfully don't hit any and continue on to the store. When I arrive, I see a woman screaming at her 5 children. Are they really that annoying to her? Why did she continue having them if she cant handle them.

I walk into the store and grab a cart. I quickly look at the signs to see which isle I need to go down. I grab the items we need and the M&Ms Ranboo asked for.

I go into the checkout isle and checkout, that's when I see a familiar face. I try to turn away with my cart as fast as possible, but I hear a "Y/N?!" I slowly turn around and say "Hi George." He looks at me and smiles. It's not that I don't like him, George just hasn't seen me since the... the accident. He looks a little shocked when I turn around, but doesn't bring it up. He makes small talk and asks what i'm doing over the summer and that we should all hang out sometime. He keeps telling me Clay misses me, but if he really did, he would respond to my damn calls. Luckily, I get out of there and quickly load the groceries into the car, hoping no one else recognizes me.

On my way home, I get a call from Ranboo saying:

Ranboob ❤️:
ur brother is at the door? did u invite him or?

What, why is he at my house right now? I quickly text back saying:

Y/n:
Ok! Im on my way home rn so just have him sit it in the living room. idk y hes there.

I put my phone down and continue driving.

I arrive home and bring in the groceries and Ranboo helps me. When I walk in, I see Clay and he runs up to me hugging me. I hug him back and put the groceries down. He looks at me and says "Need any help?" I smile at him and say "Yeah, that would be nice!".

We all finish bringing in the groceries and sit on the couch. Clay starts speaking, but he sounds nervous "So, hows everything going?" I look at Ranboo and look back "Uhm, it's going well. Nothing interesting really happening. How about you?" Clay looks lost in thought. He takes a couple of seconds to respond "Nothing much. Just minecraft and song stuff. I actually came here to talk to you. Just you" I look at Ranboo and he kisses me on the head goodbye and walks into his office.

I sit on the couch and motion him to come sit next to me and he does. He seems to me avoiding eye contact with me so I speak through the silence "What did you want to talk about?". He still looks at the floor.

After a couple of minutes, he finally makes eye contact with me "I got a text from Mom.". Wait, Mom? The one who abonded us and ran off with Dad? With a shaky voice, I say "What did she want?" He sighs and says "She wants to have dinner with us, including Ranboo, she really wants to meet him.".

Why? Why now? Why does she all of the sudden "want" her kids back in her life? Why does she all of the sudden plan to have dinner and have CLAY tell me. Upset, I say "Why?". Clay looks at me and says "I don't know. You dont have to go, but i'm going to just to see what she wants." I nod my head and he starts walking out the door, but before he leaves, he says "Maybe you should try going. She might be better." And he closes the front door.
