D's heart was pounding as 106 got closer. It seemed almost curious, taking slow, deliberate steps. She supposed it was because she wasn't running, terrified. In fact, she wasn't even remotely scared. The hammering of her heart was caused merely by excitement.

"Rrrrg," 106 grumbled, getting closer with every step. Soon it was close enough that D could touch it without reaching her arm out all the way. Her mind was buzzing as the metal beneath her started to go dark, and then bubble. D felt like she was sinking slowly.

This is amazing. She was smiling so much it made her jaw hurt. The metal below her feet was becoming dark, empty. A hole was eating away at the floor, but instead of leading to the outside of the Femur Breaker, it was leading to a dark hallway that looked like it was made of slime and rust.

Being transfixed by this strange phenomenon, D did not realize until too late that 106 had reached a hand out to touch her. When its warped fingers met her arm the fabric of her jumpsuit hissed and began to rot away. When the fabric touched her skin, a sharp pain stabbed her.

106 pulled its hand back, confused to see that D was in fact laughing, and loudly. All of her joy and excitement was being turned into a small giggle, then a chuckle, before she knew what was happening D was on her knees, gasping for air as she laughed and laughed.

106 took another step back and the ground below D hardened once gain, becoming merely metal. Slowly the pain of her fabric-induced burn (Burn? D wasn't sure.) faded away, leaving a small black mark on her arm. She got up onto shaky legs and leaned against the metal wall.

Taking a deep breath, D stood fully and smiled at a baffled 106, taking a step towards it. "What?" she asked, not sure if it could understand her. "Never seen someone as brave as me?" as she spoke she came closer to it, and it stared at her blankly. Then with a growl, it sank into the floor.

D was unfazed, as the dark black rot-like substance that 106 had disappeared into was creeping towards her. It reached where she was standing quite swiftly, and the ground opened up beneath her. This time D did fall through the hole, into a hallway made of what seemed like rust.

"Damn," she muttered, standing up. The hallway was lightless, and yet D could see everything quite well. It reminded her somewhat of the Upside Down from Stranger Things. But instead of having a blueish hue to everything, it was red.

After looking around a few times, D began to walk. She could hear mutters and whispers, and after a while, she tripped over something. After falling onto her knees D stood up and turned to see what she had tripped over. She was not surprised to see that it was a body.

Its skin was cracked like glass, and its eye sockets were hollow. D couldn't tell whether it was male or female, as all of its defining features had been stripped away, leaving something that could barely be considered a corpse. Dead. Yet still here. 106 hasn't let it go but hasn't done anything with it.

She realized suddenly what was happening. It was playing with her. As if she was some ignorant child. The thought made her furious, and a low, deep hissing escaped her clenched teeth. "I'm not scared of you!" she shouted suddenly, stepping away from the body.

A low growl came from... somewhere, and D turned around to see 106's crooked face come out of the darkness behind her. It walked towards her and she crossed her arms. "You are nothing." she snarled angrily. "You may kill and scare everyone else, but not me. In fact... we're a bit alike."

It stopped and blinked. "Rrgh." it grunted, reaching a hand out to touch her again. She let it happen and after a moment its warped fingers connected with her wrist. A striking and burning pain made her wince, but she stayed silent.

A dark, bubbling, hissing liquid was eating away at her flesh, and the bone of her wrist was visible. Tears were running down her face now, but she did not make a sound, merely watching as her bone bubbled and melted, melding with the torn skin and muscle of her arm.

106 was watching her in deep confusion, pulling its hand back and staring at her wrist. After a few more moments the hissing liquid had eaten through D's bone, and her face was full of tears. But still, she smiled, and a small giggle even escaped her lips. She felt strange. Dizzy. It was thrilling.

So she stood there and watched, as tears stained her jumpsuit, at the melded and warped area of her arm that used to be her wrist. Now her skin was gone, and the base of her hand was nothing but a mix of melted bone and muscle. She couldn't move her hand or fingers, as the tendons connecting them had melted away.

And then slowly, the melting stopped. And D's wrist has become nothing more than a glob of melted bone, blood, and skin. She couldn't move anything near the wound, and it still burned furiously. But it had stopped spreading, leaving D to blink and stagger as she tried to take a step.

She wiped her tears with her good arm and smiled at 106, which was no longer smiling. With another grunt, it stepped forward and placed its palm right on D's shoulder. She gasped audibly as the fabric of her suit hissed and melded with her skin, and then with her bone.

106 smiled once again and put its other hand on her chest, right where her heart lay thundering in her ribs. She fell back, still smiling weakly as hot tears trickled from her bright green eyes. She knew right then that this was her chance.

So she forced herself to stand up, letting out another gasp of agony as she used her arms to push herself to her feet. 106 grinned widely at her and suddenly disappeared into the floor. D staggered and fell to her hands and knees, gasping for air.

Her chest was leaking blood and dark liquid, and it felt like someone had set her lungs on fire. As the liquid made its way to her organs she coughed out a glob of blood and fell onto her stomach. The ground under her began to open up, and she fell onto a tile floor.

Bright lights crowded her vision as it wavered, and her breathing was becoming ragged. She heard a voice shouting. "What the hell? Wait- D!?" She recognized it. Then the person who was shouting was suddenly standing over her, glasses ascrew.

"Mason," she whispered, before hacking. He looked shocked and confused, while D shuddered. Each thump of her heart hurt like hell, and she let her eyes fall closed. But she wasn't scared.

In fact, she was even able to smile, before her heart thumped one more time, she took in a hissing breath, and then everything was gone.

I am so proud of this. Did I do well conveying emotion and describing stuff? Guess we'll see.

Anyway, point out any mistakes or don't, I don't really care. :P
