Mikey's Twin

Baji spots Mikey and Emma in the same dessert shop.

Maria hasn't seen them yet so he'll just ignore them. After all, he didn't want them to ruin his date. He didn't have much time with Maria.

There was only 2 weeks left.

He slides his hand through his hair as he signs a bit.

Maria looks at him in concern but he shrugs her off as he orders a smoothie as Maria ordered a chocolate parfait with ice cream.

She smiled at him brightly as she fed him her chocolate parfait. "It's so nice!" She whispered as Baji made a noise of agreement.

"Ehhh. Maria, Baji? You're here too?" Takemichi yells as Baji tsked at his time being ruined and Mikey takes a bite out of Maria's parfait.

"Rude." Maria said as she kicked her brother away. She waved at Draken as he waved back at her and Baji and left.

"I think he likes you Emma." Maria whispers to her sister as she blushed. "Happy birthday sis." She whispers as she pats Emma's head.

"Ehm!" Emma replies as she hugs the bear Draken had gotten for her tightly.

Maria looks back at Baji who was failing to hide his annoyance quite poorly. She smiles sheepishly as she feeds him another bite of her parfait.

He puffs in slight anger as he pays the flirty waitress the bills as Maria drags him out when they finished their desserts.

"Were you jealous?" He asked as he remembered how the waitress had just kept staring at him with heart shaped eyes.

Maria shakes her head defiantly as Baji chuckled. "You totally were."

They walked to before a huge lake as Baji looks at the setting sun before them.

"Maria, I have something to tell you." He said as he got more serious, he held her hand as she looks at him in puzzlement.

"I'm going have to leave Tokyo for Sapporo in two weeks." He said as her eyes widened.

"For 3 years." He continues.

"W-why?" Maria croaks out as he holds her hand but she pushes him away.

"Why?" She asks him louder as she felt her throat hurt again.

"My father." He said, looking back at the reddish orange sun as it goes lower and lower below the horizon.

Maria pauses, his father, what? Isn't his mom single? He had told her his father had left his mom when she was pregnant?

"He's a rich business man. So he wants me to go to Sapporo to a private school and study to take after his business. His other son died some time ago so he wants me to go and take over his place." Baji said as Maria shakes her head with tears flowing down her face.

He wipes them off as he hugs her. "If I can go inherit his business, I might make enough money to heal your throat and create a good future for us." He said pulling back as he stares at her face.

He cradles her face gently as their foreheads touched. "Plus it'll make my mum happy too." He said as their lips touched one another. He envelops her in a kiss as he cradled her right hand and slipped a ring on.

Maria pulls back as she looks at her hand.

"It's silver." Baji said as he holds her right hand. "But when I inherits my douchebag father's business, I'll buy you a better ring and marry you." He said as the sun finally sets and the moon appeared.

Maria looks at him in shock as he smiles softly at her. He only reserved that smile for her and his mother.

He traced her lips as he pulls her in for another kiss. They separated as Baji sits on the ground as Maria traces her hands through his hair as they spent one of their few last days together.
