Lucas's POV:

I walk into the diner, and get ready for work.

"Hey Callie." I say to my manager.

"Hey Lucas. Did you know that we have a new person coming in?"

"No...who is it?"

"Its this girl. I hear her name is Katie."

"Really?"

"Yeah, here she comes now."

I turn and see a beautiful girl walk through the door.

She has long, wavy brown hair and big blue eyes. She has a welcoming smile and seems really nice.

"Hi, I'm Katie." She says.

"So I've heard." I say.

"Okay, well we're about to open so...Lucas how about you show her around?"

I feel a rush of joy run through me.

"Sure." I play it cool.

I show her around and stuff, then we open. We spent about all day together.

Finally the diner closes.

"Well today was fun." She says.

"Yeah, it was." I smile at her.

"Hey, would you wanna hang out tomorrow?" She asks.

"Yeah, sure. Sounds fun. How about the fair?"

"Yeah! We can go after work tomorrow."

"Alrighty. See you tomorrow."

"See ya." She waves and walks out.

I feel excited and get ready to leave when a thought hit me. Maya.
