The dance was over.
As Alex was taking me home, we talked about the night.
"Thanks for taking me to the dance," I say, lightly and carefully holding his hand.
"You're welcome." He smiles over at me.
We pull into my driveway, and stop. I hop out and walk up to my door, Alex right behind me.
Turning around to face him, he takes my hands in his. I look up at him, his beautiful eyes sparkling. This was the first time I noticed them sparkle since the first time I met him. I stand on my tippy toes and give him a tight hug around his neck. "Thank you, Alex, for tonight," I whisper.
"Your'e welcome, Shelby," he says.
We then pull apart and look at each other for a little bit.
He dips down and kisses me, sweetly.
We stand there for a bit, then some lights appear.
Breaking apart, a little red car pulls up. Then, I see my sister burst out of the car.
"Shelby, you're caught red-handed!" she shouts. "Oh, you got me!" I play along.
She then runs up to me and gives me a big hug.
"I decided to return home earlier. I hope that it's ok that I disturbed your ROMANTIC time," Stacie says, rubbing my shoulder with hers. "Stacie, please stop," I hiss as I see that Jason and Alex are talking.
"Ok!" Stacie sings, the runs up to Jason and gives him a big hug, followed by a kiss, then she bolted to his car, and returned with her arms full of bags, Jason following her with more bags.
As the couple enters the house, Alex and I stand alone on our concrete patio.
He takes my hands in his, and leans down towards my face. His head was right next to my ear.
"I'll see you on Sunday, k?" he whispers smoothly.
I tune to him, looking at his lips, then his eyes. "Ok, handsome," I tease, then lean in and kiss him.
He then touches my neck tenderly, and slowly pulls me inward, closer to him.
We kiss again, then it was time for me to go in.
"By, Alex," I say shyly, closing the door slowly. "Goodnight, Shelby," he says. I then blow a kiss, and close the door.
I then run up to my room to see Stacie unpacking.
I lean in the doorway, arms folded. "What are you doing?" I ask her. "Unpacking," she says, not looking up at me. I then walk over to her and sit on her bed. "How was the resort?"
She then looks over at me, a smile plastered on her face. "It was the BEST!" she says, giving me another hug.
"I'm glad you liked it," I say. "But, you know that you missed the Valentine's dance?" "Huh? Oh, yeah! I know. But I'm glad that I went with Jason! We had a whole day spending our time doing Valentine's stuff! It was a blast."
I then start laughing.
"Well, I'm glad that you had fun, but, I have to ask you somehting," I say. "Hmm? What is it?" Stacie asks me, concerned. "When did you start unpacking? You NEVER unpack your things until Tuesdays!" I exclaim, tossing a pillow at her.
We then get into a big pillow fight.
After we're done, we find ourselves in a room with clothes, stuffed animals, bed sheets, and pillows on the floor.
"Stacie, I think we should fix up our room, and watch a movie, don't you think?" I ask her, looking over at her. "I agree," she says. And we do just that.
