"I wouldn't miss it," Iruka said with a grin.
Sarah was up on the ladder again when the door bells chimed. She cringed, almost scared to turn around expecting Kakashi to show up at any time. He would surely be up and fully aware that she had snuck out on him again. She had been going around and around in her mind how she was going to deal with him. Iruka was right, she probably needed to pour on the honey instead of poking the beast. It just rubbed her wrong though after everything Stephen had put her through. She had done just that for him and things still went to hell in a handbasket. She had suffered through it all and it made her queasy to think of having to do all that again. It really wore on her spirit the more she thought about it.
She looked over her shoulder and was relieved to see dark brown hair instead of silver. "I'll be right with you. Feel free to look around." She finished shoving the books onto the shelves before slowly going down the ladder to greet the customer. She turned around and the smile on her face froze as she looked at the customer. Yamato a.k.a. Tenzo was standing in the shop in the flesh. He was more handsome than she had expected and his large, dark eyes were staring at her in a way that felt almost like he was looking right into her. She shook herself mentally before starting towards him, "How can I help you?"
"I was looking for some books about architecture. I had inquired a while back and the previous clerk said she would order some new ones in?"
Sarah smiled at him. It was actually kind of cute that he was so interested in architecture. She remembered that about him from the show. "Well, lets see what we got. I haven't been here very long so I'm not familiar if anything came in prior to taking this position."
Yamato followed close behind her, his feet soundless on the wood floors. It was almost creepy how quiet Shinobi could be, even when they weren't on mission. "You're new here aren't you? To the village, I mean."
Sarah glanced back at him as she wove through the aisle and gave a nod. "Yes, I haven't been here very long." She absently touched the scarf she had found in the lost and found box that she had wrapped around her neck to hide the mark Kakashi had left behind. It seemed so long since she arrived but it really wasn't that long ago. "I'm Sarah."
"Yamato," he responded as she stopped in the section that would have the books. "This is all we have right now. I hope something new is there for you."
Sarah started to walk around him when he moved as if he was going to get out of her way and ended up in her way. They went back and forth two times before they started laughing hard. The door opened again as she gave Yamato a pat on the arm.
"You stay here and I'll go around," she told him with a laugh.
Yamato laughed and gave a slight bow, "As you wish. A bit awkward that bit of dancing we just did."
"Just a wee bit," she said while holding her fingers close together. "Just give me a shout if you need anything."
Yamato smiled at her, his eyes going a little soft. "How about your number?"
Sarah's face flushed with color before a low growl sounded behind her. "Just keep on looking for your book, Tenzo, this one is taken," Kakashi's voice sounded, breaking into their conversation. "We need to talk, now."
She flinched inwardly when he wrapped his hand around her arm and tugged her away. She gave Yamato an apologetic look before turning to look up at Kakashi as he pulled her away. "That was a bit rude to your friend," she hissed out. "Honestly, Kakashi, what is wrong with-"
Kakashi pulled her into the back room where they kept all their supplies and the books that they had yet to put on the shelves. He shut the door before picking her up and thumping her down on the table in the center of the room that they used for sorting. He slammed his hands down on either side of her and leaned towards her with a rather intimidating look. It reminded her of the look he had given the guards in the Foundation when he had gone to rescue Yamato from Danzo when they were kids. She was suddenly thankful he didn't still have the Sharingan because that probably would have had her fainting.
"Let's first start with you took off this morning when you knew we were going to have a discussion," he started with a tone of voice that was cold and felt like death itself.
"I had to go to work," she snapped at him. "Some of us have to work still, Kakashi."
He narrowed his eyes on her as he continued on as if she had not spoken, "Second, the minute I walk into the store you're flirting with Tenzo after only hours ago you were in my bed. I don't share what is mine with others, Sarah."
Sarah gasped at the accusation, "I was not flirting with him. I was helping him find a damn book!" She glared at him before shoving against his chest, not at all liking being trapped on the table in the least. "Second, I am not your property Kakashi Hatake. I don't even know what the hell we are at this point or what I even want us to be after the way you've been acting. You're definitely not acting like the Kakashi Hatake I know. You are not my husband and have no authority over me!"
She had been poking him in the chest as she emphasized each word. She had to be a bit crazy as his tone of voice had that lethal quality to it indicating he was beyond furious. He abruptly grabbed the wrist to the hand she had been poking him with and twisted her arm up behind her back. The action brought her up straight and way to close for her comfort, considering how angry he was at that moment. She could feel it coming off of him.
Kakashi was beyond furious as he looked at her. He had already been annoyed that she had taken off on him - again. However, he had seen red when he walked in and saw her patting Yamato on the arm while laughing with him as if they had been friends forever. It was the side of Sarah he had not even got to experience and the surge of anger at that being withheld from him was already spiking his temper to proportions he rarely got to. Then to hear Tenzo responding to said flirting by asking for her number had sent him over. He yanked his mask off as he leaned towards her.
"That can be remedied very easily," he said softly.
Sarah gasped, "Y-Y-You..." She was so shocked and stunned by his behavior she was horrified when her eyes started burning and she started crying. Who was this man? This was not the man she had fallen in love with. Did he even exist at all? No, this was the real man and her heart broke into a million pieces. "I want to go home, I don't want to be here anymore."
