The sound of (Y/N)'s ringtone rang through the room, waking (Y/N) up right away as she rushed to answer the call and hoped that Tom wouldn't wake up. She stood up and put her shoes on before walking downstairs and going outside to talk to who she assumed was Red Leader.
"So, how are you doing, sweetheart?" (Y/N) rolled her eyes before putting on her best smile and happy tone before responding.
"I'm fine, but get to the point," she heard Red Leader give an audible sigh. Tord had hoped to maybe get to talk to (Y/N) a bit more and maybe even make the 'boyfriend' lie a reality.
"Alright, you got me. I was doing my usual check up. I hope you're making decent progress on the mission," (Y/N)'s eyes went wide and her smile turned into a small frown. Her mind told her to tell the truth and hope that Red Leader would understand, but she knew full well that he wouldn't accept that answer.
"Well, not exactly. I still haven't gained Tom's trust," she lied, hoping Tord wouldn't catch on. Luckily for her, Tord brushed the lie aside with a sigh before wishing her luck and ending the call. (Y/N) checked the time as it read "8:24" and she noticed the familiar green fabric that laid on her arm.
(Y/N) shoved her phone in the pocket of the hoodie and accidentally knocked something out. The thing rolled onto the floor with a loud clang, surprising (Y/N) as she squatted down to inspect the item. It was a cola can with a thick silver chain going through it. She lifted the item up by the can, the chain dragging behind it.
She didn't know what exactly the item was, but she concluded that it went around someone's neck, like a necklace. (Y/N) lifted the chain with her other hand and proceeded to put the can necklace around her neck. It was a little heavy, but nothing she couldn't handle after her training at the Red Army.
"I'll let them sleep in a bit," (Y/N) told herself as she opened the fridge and scanned for anything to eat. She spotted some fruits, most of the fridge being filled to the brim with cola cans. She grabbed one of the fruits and a water bottle she found hidden behind all the cola cans. It wasn't much, but it would suffice.
After having eaten, she made her way up to Tom's room to grab her headphones, making sure she didn't wake him up as she made her way in and out of the room. The house was quiet without the trio awake and causing havoc and while it was peaceful, (Y/N) had to admit that she liked it better when the room was filled with screams and excited yells.
(Y/N) put her headphones on and listened to music as she waited for the boys to wake up at their own time. It didn't take long for someone to come down the stairs and greet her. This time the first person to wake up was Tom, who was rubbing his eyes from sleep. (Y/N) made some space for Tom to sit on the couch to which he did. He sat on the couch and pressed his back into the couch's squishy pillows, letting it engulf him.
"So, what'd you think of yesterday?" Tom said, his voice held a hint of tiredness as he had just woken up.
(Y/N) didn't hesitate to answer. "It was amazing! I haven't had that much fun since, well... forever!"
(Y/N)'s answer brought a tiny smile to Tom's face as he knew (Y/N) had a lot on her mind and as close as they were getting, he didn't know if he could trust (Y/N). If anything, he wants to, but her sudden appearance and claim of being one of Matt's childhood friends put him off. He found it weird that he didn't know about a (Y/N), especially if they were one of Matt's friends from childhood as he was also friends with Matt since they were little.
"Hey, you two... uh," a sudden voice broke through Tom's train of thought. He turned his attention to the cola red-faced boy, who's iconic green hoodie was gone. Tom turned his head to (Y/N) and noticed she was wearing Edd's hoodie, he had guessed Edd would have asked for it back by now, but it seems that wasn't the case.
He also noticed a familiar cola can that hung around (Y/N)'s neck. Edd's Lucky Can. He didn't say anything as he was sure Edd would speak up about it sooner or later, but for now, Edd's mind wasn't on that.
In fact, Edd's mind was running around trying to remember what happened yesterday and he remembered the thoughts he had when they were riding the carousel, one thought standing out.
"Maybe love is as beautiful as people say it is"
He tried his best to get rid of his blush as he asked (Y/N) for his hoodie back. And it went as well as when Tom tried to get his own hoodie back from her.
"Hm, no," (Y/N) snuggled into the hoodie, making Edd's blush grow and getting a sigh out of him. Tom snickered at Edd's defeat causing the brunette to give him a glare that only made Tom's snicker turn into laughter. (Y/N) rolled her eyes at the two as she went back to her music and games.
"Huh, I really thought she'd be different with you, but I guess not!" Tom said after catching his breath from his fit of laughter. Edd's frown only deepened at Tom's mocking.
Edd let out a sigh before walking up to his room. (Y/N) and Tom gave each other a worried look until Edd came back down, wearing a green hoodie. His cheeks a bright red as he muttered the words, "You can keep that hoodie, it looks nice on you,"
(Y/N) gave Edd a small thanks and a smile before going back to playing her games. Tom raised an eyebrow at this. It was unusual for Edd to give up so easily, but he brushed it off as Edd being his overly kind self.
Edd was about to head to the kitchen to make breakfast until something caught his eye. "Hey, (Y/N). Where did you find that?"
Edd pointed to his lucky can, something (Y/N) forgot she had found. She held onto the chain of the item, pulling it over her neck and handing it to Edd, assuming he was the owner by the way his eyes held a whole lot of concern and relief once the item was in his hands.
"It was in yo- I mean, my hoodie. I accidentally knocked it out when I put my phone away," Edd thanked (Y/N) as he examined the can before placing it in the pocket of his own hoodie. He asked Tom and (Y/N) if they would like to help with breakfast this time and to his surprise, Tom agreed as well as (Y/N).
The trio headed to the kitchen and began to make breakfast while they waited for Matt to wake up as he always slept in to get his 'beauty sleep' as he likes to call it. The three talked about how much fun they had yesterday.
Matt walked down the stairs, rubbing his eyelids to wake himself up. The first one to notice was (Y/N) as she waved to the boy and invited him to eat breakfast with them. Matt, of course, accepted the girl's invitation and the group continued their conversation.
"So, what should we do today?" (Y/N) asked the trio of boys, unsure of what fun adventure would arise, but much to (Y/N)'s surprise, the trio didn't have a plan.
Tom said he was planning to get drunk after work, Matt had to rearrange his mirrors and Edd had planned to finish a project he had started. This left (Y/N) with nothing to do aside from playing on her phone.
(Y/N)'s smile turned to a small frown, but she understood that the others had lives that didn't always have to include her and yet, one person found it necessary to have her in his life at all times.
"Hey, if you don't mind," Edd spoke up, "We can do something together! Maybe go to the park?"
(Y/N)'s demeanor changed, she jumped out of her seat and tackled Edd with a hug, causing the boy to blush beet red and let out unintelligible mutters. Tom and Matt laughed at the two, noticing the red color that covered Edd's face.
"Huh, well that settles that," Tom said, standing up from his seat, squatting down to the two people on the floor and placing a hand on Edd's shoulder. "Good luck with your date,"
Edd was about to protest, but he was too late as Tom had already walked away and the fact a girl was on top of him didn't help his case. Yet, he didn't want to force (Y/N) off as he had to admit, he found it kind of comforting to be in her warm embrace.
After Tom had left , Matt had left the two alone in the kitchen, thinking it would only be awkward if he stayed in the room. (Y/N) got off Edd and helped him up, her smile shining bright as she thought about the fun day she and Edd had ahead of them.
